Van Quyet: I hope the Hanoi derby will be played fairly.

"I hope the match will be played fairly," striker Nguyen Van Quyet shared before the Hanoi FC vs. Hanoi Police (CAHN) match, part of the 4th round of the V.League.

This season, referees in the national league have often caused public controversy with incorrect decisions. In round 3, center-back Giap Tuan Duong (CAHN) kicked a Binh Duong player in the ankle with both feet. Despite VAR and consultation with the linesmen, referee Le Vu Linh only issued a yellow card.

In Round 2, referee Le Vu Linh disallowed Le Van Thang's goal against CAHN. He ruled that Van Thang had fouled a CAHN player, even though the impact was negligible. Following these consecutive mistakes, referee Le Vu Linh was suspended from officiating in Round 4 of the V.League.

Besides the refereeing issue, Van Quyet is determined to achieve a positive result against CAHN because, prior to the V.League season, the purple-shirted team had suffered a 1-2 defeat against this very opponent in a friendly match. More broadly, in the last four encounters between the two clubs, CAHN won three times, while Hanoi only won once.

"The whole team will focus and strive for excellence. Hanoi FC aims to win at least one point against CAHN," striker Van Quyet stated.

Hanoi FC has lost 3 out of their last 4 matches against CAHN.

The former Vietnam national team player said that Hanoi FC welcomes the return of several important players. This is a necessary source of motivation for coach Le Duc Tuan and his team to strive for good results: "After returning from the national team, we also welcome back some players like Tuan Hai and the foreign players. With foreign players, their abilities can only be assessed after they play in matches. In training, we always encourage them to integrate well."

The striker, born in 1993, believes that Hanoi FC is a strong team, especially in defense. However, Hanoi FC has carefully reviewed video footage, thoroughly studied their opponent, and designed new tactics. He is confident in a positive result against the police team.

"We won in the last round. This is a source of motivation for the whole team to focus, strive, and play well at home. The team that is more determined and puts in more effort will win," said striker Van Quyet.

The match between Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police FC is a Round 4 match of the V.League 2024-25, taking place at 7:15 PM on Saturday, October 19th at Hang Day Stadium.
