In early March, a friend in Ho Chi Minh City expressed his desire to visit Binh Thuan and wanted to visit Hon Cau once. After several postponements due to unusual wind, last weekend my group of friends and I had the opportunity to return to this beautiful island on a day of beautiful weather. Cu Lao Cau is a small island in Tuy Phong district, about 110 km from Phan Thiet city. This is one of the rare islands in Vietnam without residents, built into a nature reserve, including rare sea turtles, listed in the Red Book.

It only took about 30 - 40 minutes by boat from Lien Huong or Phuoc The, we arrived at Hon Cau with the admiration of our group of friends, because the "green paradise" seemed overwhelming before our eyes. For more than a year now, the 2-day-1-night Cu Lao Cau tour has been enthusiastically registered by many young people to experience, especially from March to June when the weather is calm and favorable. As soon as we arrived, the group of friends did not mind the sun and wind of Tuy Phong but jumped into the sea, immersed themselves in the emerald green water, freely diving and playing like children who love water. Although the island is still wild, without many services like other islands, it is the quietness and tranquility that attracts many travel enthusiasts.

In the afternoon, I took my group of friends to explore Yen Cave, Ba Hon Cave, Tien Beach, Gia Long Well, Nam Hai Temple and the Sea Turtle Conservation Area on the island. The most interesting thing about Hon Cau is probably that besides the poetic and romantic beauty, visitors can also watch the dance of rocks that nature has bestowed. Large and small rocks are stacked on top of each other unintentionally, but they help visitors freely imagine many mysterious and strange shapes. Rocks are everywhere on the island, leaning against each other to form many different shapes, both majestic and poetic, magnificent and unique. When the sunset gradually falls, it is also the time when the sun sets behind the mountain, the sky is suddenly dyed a bright red. The whole group stood on a high cliff to admire that beautiful scene, not only me but everyone had to exclaim the heartbreaking beauty that no words can describe, as if wanting time to stop.

At night, we sat under the starry sky, clear moon, cool breeze, ate fresh seafood prepared by the tour organizer, chatted and joked around the charcoal stove and suddenly realized that there are times when life is really peaceful. Especially, if you go during the full moon season, the scenery is even more wonderful when you and nature seem to blend into one. Therefore, camping overnight on the island is one of the most interesting experiences that the group of friends has had. And after that trip, everyone hopes to return to Hon Cau one day in the near future, hoping to be lucky enough to see turtles come to the island to lay eggs or have the opportunity to witness the Cau Ngu festival held annually on the island on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month.

Hon Cau is simple, but you should come once to see the unique beauty here!

According to Hon Cau tour operators, this is the right time to go on island tours because the weather is favorable. Currently, overnight camping tours to Hon Cau cost an average of 1.5 - 1.8 million VND/person including meals and drinks, with services such as boat trips, SUP, diving to see corals, catching crabs, visiting all the places on the island...
