Each journey of discovery reveals the beauty of Chu Dang Ya from a different perspective. Indeed, this mountain changes with the seasons. And during the dry season, it possesses a timeless, tranquil, and strangely captivating beauty.

In the final days of the year, the highland sun shone like honey, the sky was clear, and the wind blew with a crisp, cool breeze. On an unplanned trip, I sought out the majestic mountains. The familiar road leading to Ia Gri village, nestled at the foot of the mystical Chu Dang Ya mountain, remained surprisingly peaceful and poetic.

The sky that day was a brilliant, boundless blue. I strolled leisurely, admiring everything around me, and here and there I spotted a few late-blooming wildflowers proudly displaying their beauty, nestled among the trees that were left with only the remnants of their last blossoms.

The last remnants of wild sunflowers in the season add a touch of mystique to the landscape of Chu Dang Ya.

Standing at the foot of the mountain and looking into the distance, the scenery above compelled me to find a way to the summit. With the help of locals who make a living by transporting tourists on motorbikes, I experienced the first part of the journey, then continued climbing the mountain on my own, exploring Chu Dang Ya amidst the windy dry season of the plateau.

During this season, Chu Dang Ya is covered with endless stretches of yellowing foxtail grass. This sun-loving wild grass, rustling in the wind, becomes a characteristic sign of the dry season, creating a wild yet incredibly romantic landscape.

The tree trunks perched precariously on the slopes provide support for tourists when climbing the mountain.

Along both sides of the road leading to the mountaintop, the myriad colors of foxtail grass shimmered in the sunlight. On the high hillsides, patches of grass swayed in the wind, each clump stretching and rustling like a love song amidst the mountains, making the changing seasons even more enchanting. In some sections of the road, the faint pinkish-purple hues of a few remaining wildflowers silently followed my footsteps up the mountain.

Amidst the howling winds, I followed the dirt-covered path to climb higher. Without rushing, I leisurely enjoyed the expansive natural landscape, admiring the enchanting mountain scenery as I walked. Underfoot were remnants of ginger plants, providing a foothold. I paused, slowly gazing at the patches of yellowing, dry brown foxtail grass, rustling in the crisp air, painting a dry yet poetic picture of the hills. The meadows stretched endlessly into the distance.

From the summit of Chu Dang Ya, looking out into the distance, one can see a picture of peaceful life at the foot of the mountain.

Standing on the rim of the dormant volcano, I gazed down into the vast basin, where glimpses of people diligently working could be seen, creating a peaceful rural scene. In the distance, herds of cattle grazed peacefully, enjoying the bounty of nature. On that volcano, nature has bestowed its soil and climate, nurturing lush vegetation, and providing shelter and support for generations of people who have lived and worked around the mountain for centuries.

Along the way, I met a few other travelers quietly contemplating the beauty of the mountains and hills. After their climb, they stopped, leaning against a tall tree by the roadside. We captured this memorable moment of our journey. In the vast open space, the cold seeped through our fingers, gently chilling our hearts. Gusts of wind swept in, blowing away all worries and carrying our weariness towards the distant valley.

Looking down from above, the valley was dotted with low-lying houses, winding fields, and lush greenery, all embracing the hills and mountains, creating a tranquil scene amidst majestic nature. As the midday sun cast a sweet, honey-like golden hue, we descended the mountain. The sky was clearer now, the wind rustling in our ears, gently caressing our clothes. Amidst the vast expanse of mountains and hills, I suddenly realized how small humanity is in the face of such immense nature.

Anyone who has ever visited, even just once, will surely be captivated by this beautiful land – where the scenery and people blend harmoniously, leaving a lasting impression even after they leave.
