Half a century after the complete victory, Vietnam achieved another triumph on April 30th, a proud achievement in economic integration and development. This transformed Vietnam from a war-torn nation with a poor economy and outdated infrastructure into one of the world's most dynamic economies, while simultaneously asserting its position on the international stage.
This was the statement made by Ignacio Mendoza Pizarro, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Bolivia, a member of the ruling coalition, in an interview with a VNA reporter in Latin America.
The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Bolivia stated that Vietnam's achievements in national construction and development over the past period are a continuation and inheritance of the valuable qualities of this nation: resilience, courage, dynamism, and self-reliance.
Therefore, Vietnam's valuable experiences in economic development and attracting foreign investment while maintaining the state's role in management and regulation have attracted attention from the ruling coalition in Bolivia in particular, as well as the global revolutionary movement in general.
According to the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Bolivia, the decisive turning point leading to these successes was the Vietnamese Communist Party's choice of economic reforms that were appropriate to the country's development realities, including building a balanced and integrated economic system, from the markets for goods, services, finance, real estate, and labor to the science and technology development strategy.
Mr. Mendoza, former Senator and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bolivian Parliament, also highly appreciated Vietnam's policy of promoting equitable development across regions, expanding people's rights, and preserving and promoting diverse ethnic and cultural identities.
These factors, according to him, have played and continue to play a central role in national growth strategy planning, especially in the context of a rapidly changing global economy.
He also highlighted Vietnam's outstanding indicators of international trade and economic stability, viewing them as clear evidence of the sustainable development cycle of an independent and sovereign nation.
Referring to the events of April 30th, Mr. Mendoza quoted the famous words of the legendary international revolutionary Che Guevara – who fought and died in Bolivia – in his speech at the 1966 Asian, African, and Latin American Conference: "We need to create two, three, many more Vietnams."
Mendoza also affirmed that the pulse of this victory has been, is, and will forever be an endless source of inspiration for the world revolutionary movement, especially for Latin American countries like Bolivia – where, during that period, the people were also suffering under colonial rule and dictatorship.
Furthermore, Vietnam's victory on April 30th also ushered in a new era of world order, an era in which nations cannot arbitrarily use force to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
