The number of vehicles in Hue City is constantly increasing.

Traffic jams during rush hour.

Ba Trieu Street, one of the important traffic arteries in the southern part of the city, currently has three major traffic bottlenecks. These are the intersections of Ba Trieu - Nguyen Hue - Hung Vuong; Ba Trieu - Le Quy Don - Duong Van An; and Ba Trieu - Nguyen Cong Tru - Nguyen Lo Trach.

During peak hours in the morning and evening, the volume of cars and motorcycles converging on these intersections is enormous, causing frequent traffic congestion, sometimes lasting for tens of minutes. Notably, congestion mainly occurs when people and vehicles stop at red lights at traffic signal clusters.

On rainy days, traffic congestion at these locations becomes even more severe. The road surface is slippery, traffic moves slowly, while the high demand for transportation causes vehicles to become "packed," resulting in localized traffic jams.

Faced with this situation, traffic police officers from the Hue City Police Department's Traffic Police Division are regularly present at the scene to regulate and direct traffic. However, observations indicate that addressing traffic congestion is quite difficult due to the extremely high density of people and vehicles, while the traffic infrastructure at the intersections has not been designed to handle the current traffic volume.

Not only Ba Trieu Street, but many roads that previously rarely experienced traffic congestion are now becoming overloaded. For example, Nguyen Sinh Cung Street, which was once considered a relatively smooth traffic route, now sees car queues stretching for hundreds of meters during rush hour. Similarly, Nguyen Khoa Chiem, Duy Tan, Tran Phu, Ngu Binh streets, the intersection of Nguyen Gia Thieu and Nguyen Chi Thanh streets, Nguyen Hue street, etc., also frequently record large volumes of vehicles causing traffic jams during peak hours.

A comprehensive, long-term solution is needed.

Explaining the causes of traffic congestion during rush hour, many people believe that Hue's inner-city road system is inherently narrow, while the number of private cars has increased rapidly in recent years. This "mismatch" between the rate of vehicle increase and the capacity of the transportation infrastructure has been creating significant pressure on the central roads of Hue City.

In addition, the expansion and upgrading of some key roads are still facing many obstacles. A typical example is the Ba Trieu road; although there is a plan to expand it to alleviate traffic congestion, implementation remains slow due to difficulties in land clearance.

According to our reporter's observations, along the same Ba Trieu street, some households have received compensation and handed over the land to the construction unit, but others have not yet agreed for various reasons. This delay is causing the road to continue experiencing increasing traffic congestion.

The problem of traffic congestion in Hue's inner city cannot be solved by temporary measures, but requires more comprehensive, long-term, and decisive solutions. In the short term, it is necessary to review and adjust traffic organization at intersections that frequently experience congestion.

Proper lane allocation, rearrangement of traffic lights, increasing green light duration in high-traffic areas, or implementing one-way traffic during specific hours are solutions that can be implemented early to reduce pressure on key intersections during peak hours.

In addition, it is necessary to accelerate the progress of projects to expand and upgrade inner-city roads, especially main routes such as Ba Trieu, Nguyen Lo Trach, Nguyen Cong Tru... In particular, land clearance work needs to be carried out more decisively, ensuring the legitimate rights of people, while also establishing a mechanism for dialogue and promptly resolving arising obstacles to avoid delays.

Besides infrastructure investment, urban management needs more attention. It is necessary to strengthen inspections and crack down on illegal parking and encroachment on sidewalks and roads for business purposes, as these factors narrow traffic space and pose a potential risk of traffic congestion.

The awareness of road users also plays a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion. Strictly adhering to the Road Traffic Law, avoiding cutting in line, refraining from stopping or parking arbitrarily, and yielding at busy intersections will significantly contribute to building a civilized and safe traffic environment.

Solving traffic congestion in Hue City's inner districts is no easy task, requiring the coordinated efforts of all levels and sectors, as well as the consensus of the people. With proper infrastructure investment, improved management, and enhanced community awareness, we believe the traffic congestion problem will gradually be resolved.
