On the afternoon of December 10th, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Office announced that the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Van Duoc, had signed Decision No. 3075/QD-UBND to reorganize the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Safety Committee.
According to the decision, the committee consists of 22 members, chaired by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Van Duoc; with the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Bui Xuan Cuong, as the permanent vice-chairman; along with other vice-chairmen and members who are leaders of departments, agencies, armed forces, and organizations of the city.

The Department of Construction is assigned as the permanent agency of the Traffic Safety Committee, responsible for coordination, using its own seal, and organizing the implementation of professional tasks.
The City's Traffic Safety Committee is an inter-agency coordinating organization tasked with assisting the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in directing efforts to ensure traffic safety and alleviate traffic congestion in the city.
Key tasks include: Proposing programs, plans, and models to reduce traffic accidents and congestion; coordinating between departments, agencies, and localities in implementing solutions to ensure traffic safety; disseminating traffic laws to the public; promptly reporting particularly serious traffic accidents; conducting scientific research, applying technology, and promoting international cooperation in the field of traffic safety; and organizing reviews, summaries, and awards for outstanding collectives and individuals.
The Committee meets regularly once every quarter and holds extraordinary meetings when there is an urgent need. The new decision replaces two previous decisions concerning the organization and personnel of the Traffic Safety Committee issued in 2015 and 2023.
