From a small enterprise to a leading company in the telecommunications industry, Viettel Construction has been a companion and has left a strong mark on the nation's journey of innovation and striving towards self-reliance and self-strength.

"Leading crane" - shouldering the burden of big, difficult, and new tasks.

Established on October 30, 1995, starting as a purely construction enterprise, Viettel Construction Joint Stock Company has now become a large enterprise with a scale of over 11,000 people, distributed widely across provinces and cities nationwide and in many countries around the world such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Peru, etc.

As a member of the Viettel Group's ecosystem, Viettel Construction, considered the "leading crane," has consistently maintained its position as "Number 1 in Vietnam" in the construction and operation of domestic telecommunications infrastructure, making significant contributions to the country's economic and social development. Accordingly, in the last 10 years, Viettel Construction's telecommunications infrastructure has tripled compared to 2013; nearly 120,000 km of fiber optic cable have been installed, covering 100% of mainland communes; nearly 60,000 base stations have been constructed, providing coverage to 98% of the population; and 11 million ultra-broadband fixed ports have been installed, capable of providing services to 80% of households.

Since 2017, Viettel Construction has been involved in managing and operating Viettel's entire network infrastructure, including 52,412 base stations, 271,000 km of fiber optic cable, and 8 million FTTH lines. It is the Group's leading unit in ensuring telecommunications infrastructure for important national political events such as the Party Congress, the APEC Summit, the US-North Korea Summit, festivals, COVID-19 prevention and control, and disaster relief efforts following storms and floods.

Viettel Construction's diverse "Multi-service - One-touch" ecosystem has now reached 98% of the population nationwide.

Furthermore, the company has made significant contributions to national defense and security – being the only pioneering unit in building and operating the entire telecommunications infrastructure in border areas, islands, and remote regions of the country. Specifically, from 2007 to 2017, Viettel Construction built and installed nearly 2,000 base stations along the coast and offshore, and nearly 1,000 base stations in border areas; providing coverage to the entire Truong Sa archipelago and offshore platforms, enabling nearly 10 million ethnic minority people to access social information and the policies of the Party and State; and providing communication opportunities for more than 3 million Vietnamese fishermen at sea, especially about 70,000 offshore fishermen, and thousands of border guards, naval officers, and coast guards. Contributing to affirming and protecting the sovereignty of the nation's borders, bridging the gap between the mainland and remote islands, and strengthening national defense and security capabilities.

Furthermore, Viettel Construction is the only pioneering unit to build Viettel infrastructure in 10 overseas markets. The corporation has constructed nearly 73,000 base stations, nearly 176,000 km of fiber optic cable, and nearly 15,000 FTTH lines in Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Mozambique, East Timor, Peru, Cameroon, Tanzania, Burundi, Myanmar, and other countries. “The network infrastructure built and operated by Viettel Construction currently provides telecommunications services to 50 million customers across three continents, including seven of the top-ranked markets. Through this, we contribute to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people, implementing the Party's international integration policy, and protecting the homeland from early on and from afar,” shared Mr. Do Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viettel Construction.

As a highlight in the Group's production and business activities, Viettel Construction consistently exceeds its production and business targets; its average revenue growth rate over the past 10 years is 26%. Notably, by the end of 2023, the company had surpassed the goals set by the 2020-2025 congress; for four consecutive years (2020-2023), Viettel Construction was among the Top 500 Fastest Growing Enterprises in Vietnam.

Aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

These impressive achievements are thanks to the unity, self-reliance, and resilience of generations of employees. In addition, the leadership team of Viettel Construction always prioritizes the human element, applying the achievements of the 4.0 industrial revolution to provide solutions to improve labor productivity, enhance the quality and efficiency of work, and make practical contributions to socio-economic development.

Accordingly, the company's labor productivity in 2023 reached 312 million VND/person/year, a 61% increase compared to 2012 (190 million VND/person/year). Notably, since 2017, the average annual labor productivity of technical staff has increased by 20-25%. By the end of 2023, Viettel Construction's total assets reached VND 6,915.8 billion, an increase of VND 855 billion compared to the previous year, and 8.8 times higher than in 2013 (an increase of nearly VND 6,137 billion). After-tax profit reached VND 515.8 billion, an increase of VND 60.7 billion compared to the previous year, and nearly 8 times higher than in 2013 (an increase of VND 450.8 billion); contributions to the state budget amounted to VND 630.7 billion, 10 times higher than in 2013.

"These results make a practical contribution to our country's goal of increasing labor productivity, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the country, especially increasing income and improving the lives of workers and people, guiding our country towards rapid and sustainable development, and escaping the middle-income trap," affirmed the Chairman of Viettel Construction.

Owning 60,000 base transceiver stations (BTS) has propelled Viettel Construction to the number one position in Vietnam in the construction and operation of domestic telecommunications infrastructure networks.

Moreover, Viettel Construction has always been proactive in seeking new business areas and expanding its business scope. While in 2014 Viettel Construction had only nearly 800 employees with an average income of 17 million VND/month, by the end of 2023, the company had created jobs for nearly 20,000 employees, including nearly 11,000 permanent staff; the average income of employees was 25 million VND/month.

By upholding the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," generations of Viettel Construction's staff have always been united, self-reliant, and self-sufficient, ready to take on difficult and new tasks, go to the most challenging places, and work with a high sense of responsibility, determination, and aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

With achievements over the past nearly 30 years, Viettel Construction has received the Third-Class Labor Medal (2010); the Second-Class National Defense Medal (2015); and the First-Class National Defense Medal (2020). From 2014 to 2023, the company received awards for 10 consecutive years: once the Government's Emulation Flag; once the "Unit of Decisive Victory" award; four times the Ministry of National Defense's Emulation Flag; five times the Group's Emulation Flag; and numerous awards from central and local ministries, departments, and agencies.
