Honoring 88 valedictorians in Ho Chi Minh City

(Dan Tri) - The Organizing Committee has selected and honored 88 excellent valedictorians at universities, academies and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City; of which 43 were admitted valedictorians and 45 were graduated valedictorians.

On the evening of December 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Student Association coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center to organize the program "Honoring Valedictorians" in 2024.

Among the 43 valedictorians who passed the entrance exams to universities, colleges and institutes, most of them had impressive scores, from 24 points and above. They all had achieved titles and outstanding achievements in their studies and movements.

Of the 45 graduating valedictorians, 35 achieved excellent results, and many students had near-perfect graduation scores.

Notably, among the 88 valedictorians this year, there are 2 students who are "double" valedictorians, being both the valedictorian of admission and the valedictorian of graduation, namely Vu Thanh Loc (Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy) and Nguyen Huu Hung (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University).

"For me, this program not only brings pride and happiness but also recognition for my efforts in the past time, and is also a motivation for me in the future," Quach Hoai Phuong, valedictorian of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics , emotionally shared.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, praised the outstanding achievements of the 88 valedictorians. In addition, he also hoped that the valedictorians admitted to universities, academies and colleges would continue to promote their achievements, strive to excel in their studies and movements to become "5 Good Students", exemplary citizens contributing to society.

"I hope you continue to cultivate virtue and talent, develop yourself in all aspects, and contribute to building the country and the city," Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong told the graduating valedictorians.

The Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission requested the City Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Association, departments, universities, academies and colleges in the city to continue to proactively monitor and implement the state'seducational policies and projects, creating the best conditions for students to develop their knowledge and skills.

After 11 years of organization, the "Honoring Valedictorians" program has honored 869 outstanding freshmen and bachelors, including 427 admitted valedictorians and 442 graduating valedictorians, of which 164 students achieved excellent results, accounting for 37%.
