88 top-scoring students in Ho Chi Minh City are honored.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The organizing committee has selected and honored 88 outstanding valedictorians from universities, academies, and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City; including 43 top-scoring students in entrance exams and 45 top-scoring graduates.

On the evening of December 6th, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center, organized the "Honoring Top Students" program for 2024.

Among the 43 top-scoring students admitted to universities, academies, and colleges, most had impressive scores of 24 points or higher. They all had previously achieved outstanding academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

Of the 45 top graduates, 35 achieved excellent grades, with many students scoring near-perfect marks.

Notably, among the 88 valedictorians this year, there are two students who are "double" valedictorians, being both top scorers in the entrance exam and top graduates: Vu Thanh Loc (Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy) and Nguyen Huu Hung (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City).

"For me, this program not only brings pride and happiness but also recognition for my efforts and hard work over the past time, and it also motivates me in the future," shared Quach Hoai Phuong, the top-scoring student admitted to the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, emotionally.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, presented certificates of merit to the top-scoring students (Photo: Thuc Hien).

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, praised the outstanding achievements of the 88 valedictorians. He also expressed his hope that these valedictorians, upon being admitted to universities, academies, and colleges, would continue to build upon their achievements, strive for excellence in their studies and extracurricular activities to become "5-Good Students" and exemplary citizens contributing to society.

"I hope you will continue to cultivate your virtues and talents, develop yourselves in all aspects, and contribute your strength to building the country and the city," Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong advised the top-performing graduates.

The Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department requested the City Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Association, relevant departments, and universities, academies, and colleges in the city to continue proactively monitoring and implementing state education policies and projects, creating the best possible conditions for students to develop both their knowledge and skills.

After 11 years of organization, the "Honoring Top Graduates" program has recognized 869 outstanding new students and graduates, including 427 top-scoring students upon admission and 442 top-scoring graduates, of which 164 students achieved excellent grades, accounting for 37%.
