It can be said that Vinh Long is a locality that fully embodies the characteristic elements of the Mekong Delta region: rivers, orchards, the sea, traditional crafts, and a multi-ethnic culture. This is a crucial foundation for the province to develop in-depth, distinctive tourism products, creating differentiation and enhancing competitiveness in the current tourism development trend.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, after the merger, Vinh Long has a dense network of rivers and canals, lush orchards, verdant islets, along with a characteristic coastal area, estuaries, and mangrove forest ecosystem. Vinh Long possesses diverse natural resources, creating favorable conditions for the development of ecotourism, agricultural tourism, community tourism, river tourism, and experiential tourism associated with the natural environment on a foundation of green growth.

In addition, Vinh Long boasts a rich cultural heritage with 3 national treasures, 18 national intangible cultural heritages, 1 UNESCO-recognized heritage site (Southern Vietnamese folk music), and 214 classified historical sites. Its multi-ethnic cultural space (Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa), traditional festivals, distinctive folk arts, rich cuisine, and over 70 traditional craft villages have created unique values, contributing to the province's distinctive tourism identity.
The infrastructure and facilities serving tourism in Vinh Long are receiving increasing investment and development. The province currently has 66 licensed travel agencies, 359 tourist accommodation establishments, 13 tourist areas and attractions, 43 service facilities meeting standards for serving tourists, 26 typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta, and many OCOP products associated with tourism, all of which are gradually asserting their attractiveness to domestic and international tourists.

The People's Committee of Vinh Long province recently held a signing ceremony for a tourism development cooperation agreement between the Provincial People's Committee and Vietravel Joint Stock Company. Strengthening the linkage between state management agencies and travel businesses is of particular importance in promoting tourism investment, developing new products, expanding tourist markets, conducting marketing and promotion, and enhancing the competitiveness of tourist destinations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, affirmed that the signing of the cooperation agreement with the travel enterprise is of significant importance in the context of the province focusing on effectively exploiting its potential and advantages in tourism, culture, ecology, cuisine, and agriculture resources. The province expects that the partnership with a leading travel enterprise nationwide will contribute to improving product quality, expanding the tourist market, strengthening promotion and advertising, and gradually making Vinh Long an attractive destination in the Mekong Delta region.

At the cooperation signing ceremony, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to strengthen linkages in developing tourism products, connecting tourist routes and destinations, expanding the tourist market, and improving the quality of tourism services in the province to meet the needs and preferences of tourists in general and specific customer segments of travel businesses in particular. This was also an opportunity for tourism businesses in the province to meet, exchange experiences, strengthen connections with travel businesses, and provide tourism products…; thereby jointly researching and developing tourism products that reflect the unique local culture, effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of each region and locality in the province.

The province has adopted a perspective that prioritizes the people, with businesses as the driving force and tourists at the center, directing all policies and activities towards creating the best products, services, and experiences for tourists, ensuring a harmonious balance of interests between the state, businesses, and the people.
In recent times, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province has oriented and promoted communication and tourism promotion activities; organized events to attract tourists at the end of the year; and continued to develop unique tourism products, new tourism products, and eco-tourism in orchards... thereby creating new impetus to attract visitors to come for sightseeing, recreation, and entertainment.
In the first six months of 2026, Vinh Long's tourism industry continued to develop positively, achieving many promising results. The total number of tourists exceeded 264,000 (including approximately 33,540 international visitors), an increase of 21.37% compared to the same period last year. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 289.42 billion, an increase of 22% compared to the same period last year. The province expects that by the end of 2026, the total number of tourists will reach 598,000, an increase of 17.69% compared to the same period last year; and tourism service revenue will reach approximately VND 601 billion, an increase of 18.38% compared to the same period last year.
