On July 1, 2025, Vietnam Ocean Shipping Joint Stock Company (VOSCO) solemnly held the 55th Anniversary Celebration (July 1, 1970 - July 1, 2025). This is not only a milestone marking the glorious historical tradition of VOSCO - the oldest shipping company in Vietnam, but also a word of encouragement and inspiration for officers, employees, and crew members to continue working and contributing worthy of previous generations, continuing to innovate and develop the Company in the coming stages.
Established on July 1, 1970 on the basis of unifying three fleets: Giai Phong, Tu Luc and Quyet Thang with the initial goal of participating in major transport campaigns from Hai Phong to Zone Four, transporting goods to the South to serve the resistance war against the US to save the country, the Company has completed both production and combat tasks, contributing to the resistance war against the US and unifying the country. Entering the period of post-war recovery, innovation and development, the Company has actively changed its production and business management model to suit the market mechanism, proactively integrating into the international economy . At the same time, it has always been at the forefront of applying new technology, new management systems in the direction of international modernization to improve production and business efficiency, develop the fleet in the direction of rejuvenation and specialization, in accordance with the requirements of the international shipping market. The Company also pays special attention to the issue of selecting and training additional human resources for the workforce. Always fulfill obligations to the State and actively participate in charity and social security work.
VOSCO is proud to have achieved many important achievements over the past half century, gradually becoming one of the pillars of the national maritime transport industry, an enterprise with a diverse fleet including bulk carriers - general cargo, oil tankers - chemical tankers, container ships with global operations. VOSCO's fleet has been present across the oceans, establishing relationships with hundreds of international partners, transporting goods to dozens of countries, hundreds of seaports - contributing to bringing Vietnamese brands far and wide.
55 years accompanying the country, going through historical periods is a journey of faith - courage - intelligence and innovation. In the current period of integration and rapid technological change, VOSCO will continue to maintain the goal of sustainable development, focusing on service quality, safe navigation, while constantly investing in fleet modernization, improving human capacity and building corporate culture. Generations of VOSCO cadres, employees, and crew members will always strive with a spirit of solidarity, responsibility, constantly learning and innovating to achieve the challenging goal, which is: Developing the fleet managed and operated by the Company to triple in the period 2025-2030, with over 1 million tons of deadweight, including specialized bulk carriers, oil tankers - chemical tankers, container ships; developing diverse types of business and services.
At the ceremony, the Company's leaders solemnly performed the "Lighting up the Sea Route" ritual - symbolizing the pioneering spirit, aspiration, belief and determination to bring the VOSCO brand to continue to strongly reach out to the sea, create a green future, and develop on par with major transport units in the region.
