The Le Chi Vien case is being adapted into a film.

TPO - The Le Chi Vien case - one of the most famous and haunting tragedies in the history of feudal Vietnam - will be recreated on the big screen through the film project "The King's Justice" by director Luong Dinh Dung, scheduled for release in 2028.

According to the producers, the film is currently in the scriptwriting stage and is scheduled to begin filming in October 2027. The work is inspired by King Le Thanh Tong's journey to exonerate the renowned figure Nguyen Trai after the Le Chi Vien massacre – a case that led to the execution of three generations of the national hero's family in the 15th century.

Instead of opting for the familiar approach of many historical films with grandiose battle scenes, director Luong Dinh Dung stated that he wanted to explore the depth of history through military thinking, investigative art, and the journey to seek justice.

"We can't just follow the lead of neighboring countries in staging large-scale battle scenes, so we have to choose a smarter and more specialized approach. I will make a film with more subtle and sophisticated staging, showcasing profound tactics, the beauty of battle, and honoring history through an artistic lens," director Luong Dinh Dung shared.

The King's Justice is scheduled to be filmed in Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, and Hanoi . The film is planned for release on National Day, September 2nd, 2028.
