According to the producers, the film is currently in the scriptwriting stage and is scheduled to begin filming in October 2027. The work is inspired by King Le Thanh Tong's journey to exonerate the renowned figure Nguyen Trai after the Le Chi Vien massacre – a case that led to the execution of three generations of the national hero's family in the 15th century.
Instead of opting for the familiar approach of many historical films with grandiose battle scenes, director Luong Dinh Dung stated that he wanted to explore the depth of history through military thinking, investigative art, and the journey to seek justice.
"We can't just follow the lead of neighboring countries in staging large-scale battle scenes, so we have to choose a smarter and more specialized approach. I will make a film with more subtle and sophisticated staging, showcasing profound tactics, the beauty of battle, and honoring history through an artistic lens," director Luong Dinh Dung shared.

According to him, the battles in *The King's Justice* are not simply large-scale skirmishes, but rather focus on showcasing the beauty of Vietnamese military tactics, intelligence, and the character of historical figures. Therefore, the film aims to recreate history using a rich and artistic cinematic language, rather than relying solely on scale and staging.
This choice also reflects the reality of producing Vietnamese historical films, which requires enormous resources in terms of settings, costumes, props, and thousands of extras. Director Luong Dinh Dung stated that, given the limited infrastructure for historical films in the country, focusing on the depth of content and storytelling will create a unique identity for the work.
The King's Justice is scheduled to be filmed in Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, and Hanoi . The film is planned for release on National Day, September 2nd, 2028.
Luong Dinh Dung is a director whose films have twice represented Vietnamese cinema in the Oscar selection process with "Father Carrying Son" and "578: The Madman's Bullet ". His films have been released in nearly 70 countries and participated in many major international film festivals.
