Youth in solidarity
Continuing many meaningful activities since the completion of the "National Flag Road" project, the youth volunteer team of La Dêê commune immediately began the task of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, helping affected local households to stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
According to Mr. Zoram Hai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of La Dee commune and Secretary of the Youth Union of La Dee commune, a few days ago, after a heavy rainstorm, the entire hillside behind the house of Hien Thi (in Dac Ro village) suffered a serious landslide. Thousands of cubic meters of soil and rocks flowed down from above, burying the house walls and threatening the lives and property of the family.
Immediately, a task force consisting of young people and militia members was mobilized to address the aftermath of the floods. Demonstrating a spirit of community service, after a short period of concerted effort, the entire mass of earth and rocks was cleared and removed, ensuring the safety of Mr. Hien Thi's family and neighboring households.
“In response to the practical needs of the locality, we have recently established a youth volunteer team to support the community. This team is tasked with helping people overcome natural disasters, eliminate temporary housing, provide technological support, and facilitate digital transformation… Through practical actions, the youth volunteer team is contributing and working together towards welcoming the upcoming First Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term,” Mr. Zơrâm Hải shared.

With a focus on community engagement, many meaningful activities are continuing and spreading strongly at various levels of grassroots youth organizations in mountainous areas. Recently, in the border village of Ki'nonh, the Youth Union of Hung Son commune launched a youth project to build a "Pedestrian Suspension Bridge" with the participation of nearly 100 volunteers and local people.
The project, valued at 150 million VND, was funded by donations from benefactors solicited by the Hung Son Commune Youth Union, contributing to traffic safety and serving the transportation needs of people in the mountainous and border region.
Mr. Riáh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Son commune and Secretary of the Hung Son Commune Youth Union, said that in addition to building a pedestrian suspension bridge, the locality also integrated a charitable program during the launching ceremony, distributing 75 gifts (50 for children and 5 for disadvantaged families) in the commune, with a total budget of over 200 million VND for the campaign.
"We hope to contribute our small part to the community, seeing it as a way to spread positive actions towards the city's big event," said Mr. Riah Dung.
Enhancing community value
Following the issuance of the plan for the first Co Tu Traditional Culture Festival in Song Kon commune in 2025, hundreds of Co Tu artisans in the commune have been gathering in front of each village's cultural center for several days to practice the traditional Tang Tung - Da Da dances, preparing for the community festival.

To the rhythmic beat of drums and gongs, the villagers, guided by experienced artisans, create a vibrant and meaningful community space steeped in tradition.
According to Mr. Alang Phan, head of Bhlo Ben village, the villagers have just finished weeding their fields and harvesting acacia trees, making it quite favorable for training activities. The festival, held after the commune merger, holds special significance, creating opportunities for interaction and bonding among the Co Tu community in the villages within the commune.
"This is also an opportunity to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, contributing to making Co Tu culture a unique tourism product for visitors from near and far," Mr. Phan hoped.
The sound of drums and gongs resounds in front of the communal house, and dances reenact scenes of bountiful harvests, the new rice festival, or romantic moments... are performed under the dedicated guidance of skilled artisans for the younger generation. These practice sessions have become a unique cultural activity for the people of Song Kon commune ahead of the First Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
According to Mr. Do Huu Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Song Kon commune, the first Co Tu Traditional Culture Festival of Song Kon commune will fully recreate the traditional Co Tu cultural rituals, with the highlight being the Prơngooch brotherhood ceremony, the display of cultural artifacts and local products, the Tan Tung - Da Da competition, the Ly singing and storytelling competition, the traditional cuisine demonstration, and folk games.
The festival promises to bring together hundreds of local artisans and performers, marking the beginning of outstanding cultural activities in the mountainous communes of Da Nang city.
"Besides preserving the fine traditional cultural values of the Co Tu people, the festival aims to celebrate the First Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, and look forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party."
"Through this, we contribute to motivating and raising people's sense of responsibility in preserving, promoting, and publicizing the traditional cultural identity of the Co Tu ethnic group, fostering community solidarity, honoring identity, and aiming to create unique cultural tourism products to serve the needs of tourists who come to the Song Kon region for experiences and exploration," Mr. Tung said.
