In the context of the country entering the digital age, the role of the Youth Union and Youth Association is even more important, as the energy of young people in building and developing the country, always participating at the forefront of all activities, has been highly valued and maximized. Youth Union members and young people not only demonstrate a sense of responsibility to their families and society but also affirm their position in the process of building the country in the new era.
However, the situation in the country in particular and the world in general presents many intertwined opportunities and challenges for the work of the Youth Union and Youth Association. In particular, the issue of streamlining the organizational structure at all levels is being prioritized. Far from seeing this as a difficulty, Youth Union members and young people see it as an opportunity, recognizing that they need to study and strive harder, improving their abilities to contribute to the work of the Youth Union and Youth Association in this new phase.

Mr. Tran Quang Vu, a member of the Youth Union Committee of Phu Tan district, shared: “The whole country in general, and our province in particular, is reorganizing the administrative apparatus according to the policies of the Party and the State, including the policy of abolishing district-level administrative units, and consequently, there will no longer be district-level Youth Union organizations. But I think, with the enthusiasm, passion for Youth Union activities, and dedication, we young people will still maintain a firm stance. Even without a district-level Youth Union organization, there are still commune-level, provincial-level, and Central Youth Union organizations; young people will still contribute, and the Youth Union activities and youth movements will continue to burn brightly.”
In the spirit of the Youth Union, the Youth Association is a place that gathers the youthful energy, intellect, and enthusiasm of young people. All members share a common goal: to build a strong Youth Union organization, contributing not only to the development of the nation's youth but also to the cause of national construction and defense. From this, each individual strives for self-improvement before being refined and selected to become the most outstanding talent.
According to Ms. Nguyen Phuong Linh, Secretary of the Phu Tan District Youth Union: “Youth Union members need to prepare themselves mentally, maintain a youthful spirit, and contribute more to the future, continue to contribute to the community, and participate in volunteer activities. We need to face change and see it as an opportunity to learn, train, and develop ourselves, rather than being afraid or hesitant.”
The youth union members enthusiastically contribute to the community through activities such as picking up trash on the river and participating in "Green Sunday" events.
Speaking at the online seminar "Building a Strong Youth Union is Building the Party One Step Ahead," on March 15th, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, former Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department (now the Central Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department), pointed out that the restructuring of the Youth Union's organizational apparatus and staff at all levels needs to closely adhere to the political requirements and tasks of the Youth Union in the current period as set forth by the Party and the State. To streamline effectively, the Youth Union and its affiliated organizations need to identify the key tasks and priorities of the country, as well as the strengths of the Youth Union organization. From there, they should focus on implementing fundamental and effective measures.
Currently, recruitment is temporarily suspended, resulting in a shortage of young cadres. However, this should not discourage Youth Union cadres, members, and young people, nor should it cause them to neglect their work. This is a revolution that Youth Union cadres, members, and young people must lead, placing the interests of the collective above personal ego and self-interest.
For young people, streamlining the organizational structure of youth organizations is simply a challenge to hone their skills.
First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Bui Quang Huy, affirmed that what Youth Union officials, members, and young people need to do now is focus on improving their own capabilities. “I believe that Youth Union members and young people must take the lead in digital transformation and promote movements to support disadvantaged children. For major projects in the provinces and localities where you live and work, you must be even more proactive and make greater efforts in programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, and build new rural areas…,” Bui Quang Huy emphasized.
It can be said that streamlining is not a concern for youth union members, because wherever there are difficulties, there are young people. Correctly understanding one's responsibilities and enhancing one's own value in one's work is the practical goal to strive for right now.
