The hypothetical situation is: "The information on duty received a notification from the superior that an object was flying towards the center of Hanoi through Noi Bai commune...". Immediately, the militia soldier in charge of the information on duty sent out an alarm signal to the unit to deploy the combat formation. The rapid sound of the gong urged the soldiers' steps. Very quickly, the entire 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun battery was present at the battlefield. Battery Captain Nguyen Van Chung loudly said: "The battery deploys the formation. Prepare to load the gun!". Immediately, the soldiers in the combat crew, each with a task, quickly carried out their tasks. Some checked the movement of the gun, some loaded the bullet, some adjusted the sight... The clanking sound of metal mixed with the shouts of commands made the training session lively and attractive. Having completed the preparations, Battery Captain Chung gave the order: "Ready...! Fire...". The first round of bullets ended, the target was not destroyed. Keeping a close eye on the target, the soldier continued to load new magazines, coordinating rhythmically so that the firing rhythm was not interrupted. Each round of bullets was immediately observed, evaluated and adjusted.

The 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun team of Noi Bai commune enthusiastically practiced.

The squad leader gave the order again: “Move target to the right! Fire!”. The soldiers reacted quickly, changed their aiming angle, coordinated smoothly, the observer signaled, the ammunition carrier continuously supported. Each action took place in a few seconds but was repeated many times, to train the reflexes, speed, accuracy, and coordination of the militia soldiers.

At the end of the training, militia soldier Tran Van Hieu shared: “At first, I found this training very difficult. Because the target moved quickly, the wind was strong, and we had to perform many complex techniques, so sometimes we couldn’t aim accurately or we missed our reaction time. Especially when it came to coordinating with the numbers in the battery. But after many times of training, we became more proficient and achieved better results.”

Talking to us, comrade Luong Van Hieu, Commander of the Military Command of Noi Bai commune, shared: “Training in 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine guns is one of the key tasks of the regular militia force. Through the training sessions, we not only practice operating skills and accurate shooting, but also improve our ability to coordinate with teammates and respond quickly to unexpected situations. In particular, Noi Bai commune is identified by leaders and commanders at all levels as a key area for air defense. Therefore, we always require each soldier to uphold the spirit of self-awareness, actively practice, grasp safety procedures, master weapons and equipment, and be ready to fight in all situations.”

It is known that although it has just come into operation when implementing the two-level local government, the content of building the people's air defense force has always been of interest to leaders and commanders at all levels. Therefore, to improve the quality of 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun training, the Commune Military Command has implemented many synchronous measures, in terms of technique as well as organization and management. The unit has strengthened theoretical training combined with practice, helping militia soldiers grasp the structure, operating principles, and operating procedures, ensuring absolute safety. The practical exercises are designed to be close to actual combat, including shooting at fixed targets, moving targets, and handling hypothetical situations, thereby training soldiers to have quick, accurate reflexes and the ability to coordinate with teammates. At the same time, focus on group training, dividing into many small exercises, rotating exercises, correcting mistakes on the spot and learning from experience after each session, helping soldiers promptly detect weaknesses, perfect skills and improve their level, thereby progressing and becoming more confident through each training session./.
