Rising to prominence through digital transformation.

Digital transformation has brought about significant changes in agricultural production and consumption. In Thai Nguyen, many agricultural cooperatives have proactively applied information technology, e-commerce, and digital platforms to management, production, and product promotion. This has helped expand markets, increase the value of agricultural products, and create more jobs and income for members.

Thien An Cooperative in Phu Thong commune is a prime example of transformation through the application of technology. Established in 2017, the cooperative focuses on developing distinctive local products such as herbal bath remedies used by ethnic minorities and traditional brocade products including blankets, pillows, bags, and wallets. From its inception, the cooperative has prioritized the application of information technology to promote and sell its products.

The cooperative has built its own website and listed its products on e-commerce platforms. It also uses sales management software to track goods, inventory, and revenue. By leveraging digital platforms, the cooperative's products are widely consumed domestically and are gradually entering the international market.

Ms. Ly Thi Quyen, Director of Thien An Cooperative, said: "Promoting products on e-commerce platforms helps them reach a larger customer base. Images, videos , and consumer feedback contribute to enhancing brand reputation. Currently, the cooperative's revenue exceeds 2 billion VND per year, and members earn over 10 million VND per month."

Besides marketing, many cooperatives are also boldly applying technology to production to improve productivity and quality of agricultural products. At Dai Ha Cooperative in Bach Thong commune, the model of growing cantaloupe in greenhouses is yielding clear results.

Thanks to the enclosed greenhouse system, the crops are protected from the effects of weather and pests. The cooperative applies a drip irrigation system combined with organic farming practices, helping the plants grow uniformly and saving costs.

Mr. Bui Van To, Director of Dai Ha Cooperative, said: "The greenhouse model helps to better control the growing environment of the plants, improving the fruit setting rate and product quality. After nearly 3 months of cultivation, the cantaloupe melons are harvested with an average weight of 1.5-3kg per fruit, yielding about 3 tons per 1,000m²."

According to statistics, Thai Nguyen province currently has nearly 1,000 active agricultural cooperatives. Many units have gradually applied information technology to management and production, such as using accounting software, electronic invoices, environmental sensor systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT) technology for production monitoring.

E-commerce is increasingly becoming an important distribution channel for local agricultural products. To date, more than 200,000 agricultural households in the province have created accounts to list their products on the Postmart and Voso platforms, offering over 3,000 different products. Online sales revenue for many cooperatives has increased by approximately 30% compared to before.

In addition to e-commerce platforms, many cooperatives also effectively utilize social media platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube to promote their products and build their brands.

Mr. Hoang Van Tuan, Director of Phu Do Safe Tea Cooperative in Vo Tranh commune, shared: "Using social media helps the cooperative introduce its production process and product quality in a visual way. As a result, the cooperative's tea products are becoming more widely known to customers, and the market continues to expand."

In reality, digital transformation is opening up many new opportunities for agricultural cooperatives in improving the efficiency of production, management, and product consumption. With the support of relevant agencies and the proactive innovation spirit of the cooperatives, digital transformation is expected to continue to create momentum for the sustainable development of the cooperative economic sector in the future.
