Capturing the rhythm of everyday life.
The Thai Nguyen Photography Association currently has approximately 50 members. Over the years, the photographers have continuously created and documented everyday life. At the same time, they have actively participated in competitions and exhibitions both domestically and internationally, thereby contributing to promoting the image of Thai Nguyen's land and people to the world.
From 2021 to the present, at the regional level, members have won 1 gold medal, 1 bronze medal, 3 consolation prizes, and 3 team awards. At national thematic competitions, many works have continued to make their mark, including 1 bronze medal at the Vietnam Tourism Photography Contest; 1 bronze medal at the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group Photography Contest; 1 C prize at the Vietnam Buddhist Photography Contest; and 2 consolation prizes from People's Television. Notably, more than 50 works by photographers from Thai Nguyen have been selected for exhibition in many countries, such as France, Italy, China, Japan, Spain, etc., and have also received 2 international honorable mentions.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Quynh, President of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said: "The province's photographers have devoted much effort to their creative work, making a significant contribution to bringing the image of Thai Nguyen closer to domestic and international audiences. Many works not only have artistic value but also create a positive effect in promoting destinations, introducing local culture and people."
In reality, despite possessing significant potential for ecotourism, historical tourism , community tourism, and cultural tourism, the level of recognition for tourism in Thai Nguyen is still not commensurate. In this context, beautiful and emotionally rich photographs are becoming an effective bridge, helping viewers gain a more concrete understanding of the land, people, and life in this region.
For many years, the Thai Nguyen Photography Association has closely followed socio-political tasks, accompanying major events of the province, cultural, sports, tourism activities, and local festivals. Through the lens of artists, the changes in the process of integration and development; the beauty of tangible and intangible cultural heritage; and the daily life of ethnic minorities are authentically and vividly recorded. This is also a valuable source of information contributing to promoting Thai Nguyen's tourism potential to domestic and international tourists.
A bridge connecting emotions
At many of the province's photography exhibitions, viewers are impressed by how Thai Nguyen is portrayed as both familiar and peaceful, yet rich in cultural depth. From the tea hills stretching out in the early morning mist, the vast Nui Coc Lake, the historically significant ATK Dinh Hoa, to moments of daily life of the ethnic minority people in the highlands... Each work opens up a fascinating scene of this land with its diverse characteristics.

Photographer Vuong Minh Lap, a member of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations, shared: "With each photograph, I hope to send to the public beautiful images of my homeland, its people, and the cultural and tourism events of Thai Nguyen, so that more people will learn about, explore, and want to experience them firsthand."
Capturing a beautiful photograph is a laborious journey; many artists spend hours, even days, following festivals, staying in villages, waiting for the right light or the most authentic moment of the subject to take the shot. After the administrative boundary merger, photographers have turned their lenses more towards the cultural life of ethnic minority communities in the highlands, documenting the diverse beauty in the new cultural space of Thai Nguyen province.
A common sight at festivals or tourist destinations is photographers readily taking portraits and capturing beautiful moments for visitors, then giving them these photos as small gifts. These pictures help visitors preserve memories and leave them with a positive impression of the friendliness and hospitality of the people of Thai Nguyen.
Photographer Duong Thanh Len, a member of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said: "What artists most desire is to spread love for their homeland and country through each photograph, making viewers love and want to explore the lands featured in the pictures even more."
Pham Xuan Thinh, a student at the National Economics University, shared: "As a native of Thai Nguyen and a photography enthusiast, I often share beautiful photos of nature and people with my friends at school. Many are quite surprised to learn that Thai Nguyen has such beautiful scenery and rich culture. The best part is that, inspired by these photos, many people hope to have the opportunity to visit and experience it firsthand in the near future."
To further promote the role of photography in destination promotion, in 2026, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will launch the "Beautiful Photos of Thai Nguyen Tourism 2026" contest. The contest encourages works reflecting nature, scenic spots, historical relics, traditional crafts, festivals, community cultural life, cuisine, as well as images of tourists experiencing tourism products in Thai Nguyen province...
Through these storytelling images, the beauty of Thai Nguyen's land and people is gradually spreading wider. This contributes to promoting the destination and creating a bridge of emotional connection, allowing everyone to better understand, love, and want to return to experience this land rich in cultural identity.
