Standing firm on the training ground amidst the 'three explosions'

Amidst the early summer sun on the training grounds of Military Region 1, the sounds of AK rifles, grenades, and explosives resounded incessantly, marking the first milestone in the maturity of new recruits after nearly three months of training. Overcoming the "three explosions" was not only a completion of the training test but also a challenge to the courage, willpower, and mental fortitude of these young soldiers.

At the Yen Son training ground in Yen Vuong commune, Bac Ninh province, Regiment 12 (Division 3) conducted a "three-explosive" test for new recruits in a serious atmosphere, ensuring absolute safety. On the firing positions, the new recruits calmly performed the shooting, grenade throwing, and explosive handling exercises according to technical standards…

Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung, Commander of Military Region 1, personally inspected and encouraged the troops, visiting the locations where the inspection was being conducted to inquire about and commend the training results and award "shooting excellence flowers" to soldiers who achieved high results…

Encouraged by the Military Region Commander and awarded the "excellent marksman" award right on the training ground, soldier Hoang Nhu Thanh, Battalion 6, Regiment 12 (from Dai Phuc commune, Thai Nguyen province), quickly wiped away the sweat rolling down his cheeks and expressed: "I am very honored. This will be a motivation for me to continue striving and fulfilling my duties well in the future."

Along with the 12th Regiment (3rd Division), all new recruit training units in Military Region 1 simultaneously organized the "three explosions" test. Across the training grounds, from main units to provincial military commands, the sounds of gunfire, grenades, and explosives blended with the enthusiastic spirit of the new recruits competing to excel in the "three explosions" exercise.

At the training ground for new recruits of the 246th Regiment (346th Division), each soldier calmly performed aiming, trigger pulling, grenade throwing, and explosive detonation exercises according to technical specifications. After each successful shot, the training ground resounded with cheers and encouragement from their comrades. The "flowers of excellent marksmanship" were presented directly to the soldiers by unit officers right at the training ground, providing timely motivation and encouragement to the troops.

Among the soldiers who achieved good results, soldier Tran Duy Manh, Company 8, Battalion 2, Regiment 246, scored 82 points in the AK submachine gun shooting exercise 1. Sharing his feelings after leaving the shooting range, Manh couldn't hide his joy: "Before the test, I was very nervous because this was my first time firing live ammunition. But thanks to the officers' meticulous guidance on each movement and constant reminders to maintain composure, I calmly performed the technique correctly. When I successfully completed the shooting exercise and received congratulations from the unit, I felt that the hard training days were truly meaningful."

Observing the soldiers practicing the test, Colonel Nguyen Van Hoa, Commander of the 346th Division, said: The "three explosions" test is an important part of evaluating the initial results in training new recruits. This year, the soldiers' achievements are higher than last year; many have clearly matured in awareness, courage, psychology, and practical skills. From being hesitant when they first arrived at the unit, the new recruits are now more confident, strictly adhering to field discipline, and calmly performing each test item.

Not only were the shooting ranges bustling with activity, but the "three explosions" test grounds at units of Military Region 1 were also filled with warmth from the heartfelt "training ground support" activities of mass organizations.

Amidst the scorching heat of the training ground, the sight of officers closely accompanying the soldiers, medical personnel on duty to care for their health, and women's association members and youth union members providing water and encouragement to the soldiers before the "three shots" practice session contributed to a vibrant atmosphere of competition, unity, and close ties between the military and the people. The joyful cheers after each successful shooting round, and the "shooting excellence flowers" on the soldiers' chests, became beautiful images of this year's training season.
