A fierce competition between the talented players.

Compared to last year, DIFF 2026 has a similar number of participating teams and countries/territories, including 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries/territories: Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau (China), and Australia. However, this year's festival features 4 teams participating for the first time, promising to bring new and diverse performance styles, enriching the artistic identity of DIFF.

In this competition, two Vietnamese teams, Da Nang Fireworks Team and Z121 Vina Pyrotech, continue to participate, playing a role in connecting local identity with international fireworks styles. The combination of experienced names and newcomers is expected to create a competition full of discovery , surprises, and emotions.

According to the organizers, DIFF 2026 will take place over six nights, each with its own theme, but connected in a unified narrative about Da Nang 's development journey and its integration with Quang Nam. The themes will explore the city's core values, from nature, heritage, and culture to creativity and vision, culminating in the final night, "Da Nang - United Horizons".

Technology continues to play a central role in enhancing the audience experience with the application of Sky AR technology, allowing viewers to interact directly with the fireworks display and personalize their experience on each device. Laser LED systems project light onto the Han River and the buildings on both banks, transforming the festival space into a multi-dimensional stage, while real-time audio technology ensures that viewers fully enjoy the music synchronized with the fireworks, regardless of their position within the event area.

According to many experts, the presence of two "giants" in the fireworks industry, Macau (China) and Japan, will make DIFF 2026 more competitive and exciting.

The winning team will receive a prize of $20,000, a trophy, and a certificate. Additional prizes include: Most Popular Team (voted by the audience) receiving $5,000 and a certificate; Innovation Award receiving $5,000 and a certificate; and Promising Team Award receiving $5,000 and a certificate.

Numerous large-scale accompanying activities

This year's event is considered to go beyond the scope of a typical fireworks festival, as it is accompanied by a series of spectacular fireworks displays along with large-scale, diverse, engaging, and highly interactive cultural, artistic, sporting, and entertainment activities throughout the event. Notable examples include River Fest, Beer Fest, and a series of experiences within the Sun Paradise Land ecosystem, transforming the entire city into a continuous experiential space.

Amidst the vibrant festival atmosphere, Da Nang also offers many exploration options for tourists on days without fireworks. Sun World Ba Na Hills is one of the standout destinations, where the summer of 2026 will continue to be exciting with the Beer Festival, spectacular art performances, nighttime entertainment, and European-style architecture nestled among the clouds.

In addition, familiar yet ever-new experiences such as strolling along My Khe beach at sunrise, exploring Son Tra peninsula, visiting My Son Sanctuary, immersing oneself in the cultural flow of Hoi An ancient town, or simply spending a leisurely afternoon in cafes along the Han River, also contribute to creating a picture of Da Nang that harmoniously blends festive energy with a relaxed pace of life...

According to the DIFF 2026 Organizing Committee, this year's fireworks festival conveys a message about the image of a new Da Nang after the merger of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province. The theme expresses the close combination of nature, cultural symbols - architecture - tourism and the modern spirit of a destination that connects, preserves national identity, interacts, and develops in the new era.

The themes of the six competition nights will therefore follow the trajectory of a new Da Nang development journey, with a new position, potential, and mindset. The names of the competition nights are, respectively, Nature, Heritage, Culture, Creative, Vision, and United Horizons.

DIFF 2026 will take place over 6 nights; the fireworks display will be held in the Han River Port area; the main viewing area and stage will be on the sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street, opposite the area and stage used in previous DIFFs.

The opening night on May 30th, themed "Nature," will be a competition between the host team, Da Nang Fireworks Team from Vietnam, and the Chinese team.

The second night took place on June 6th with the theme "Heritage," between the French team and the Z121 Vina Pyrotech team from Vietnam.

The third night, on June 13th, with the theme "Culture," will be a competition between the Japanese newcomer and the experienced Italian fireworks team that has competed at DIFF.

The fourth night, held on June 20th, had the theme "Creativity" and featured a competition between the German and Macau (China) teams.

The fifth night, on June 27th, featured a match between Australia and Portugal with the theme "Vision".

The final night will take place on July 11th, under the main theme "Da Nang - United Horizons".
