Providing financial support to the Fish Sauce Farmers' Association in Phu Loc Commune.

Multiple models are supported.

Having been involved in cultivating yellow apricot blossoms for many years, Mr. Pham Tha, Head of the Farmers' Association branch in Lai Thanh 1 residential area, Huong Tra ward, understands the hardships involved in caring for this economically valuable crop. On an area of approximately 1,500m² with nearly 900 yellow apricot trees, irrigation was previously done entirely manually, requiring significant time, effort, and labor costs.

With support from the "Farmers' Support Fund," his family received 12 million VND to install an automatic irrigation system. At the same time, he also proactively invested in a timer control system to optimize the care of his apricot blossom garden. "After installing the automatic irrigation system, the work is much easier. The system operates on time, and the water is distributed evenly, so the plants grow better than before," Mr. Tha shared.

Besides saving labor, the application of a scientific irrigation system also helps the apricot trees grow uniformly, increasing their commercial value. Each year, the yellow apricot tree cultivation model brings Mr. Tha's family an income of about 200 million VND, motivating him to continue expanding production in a modern and sustainable direction.

In addition to focusing on supporting individual production development models, the City's Farmers' Association has also paid attention to building professional farmers' branches and groups. This is considered a suitable direction to bring together members in the same profession, supporting each other in terms of technology, capital, and product consumption.

In Phu Loc commune, the model of professional farmers' associations producing traditional fish sauce is gradually proving effective, contributing to increasing the income of people in the coastal area. With funding from the "Farmers' Support Fund," each association received 30-60 million VND, enabling 10 members to invest in equipment and containers for the fermentation and preservation of fish sauce.

Ms. Dang Thi Nhu Quynh, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Phu Loc commune, said: "Providing capital support to help farmer members invest in equipment to develop fish sauce production models not only has economic significance but also contributes to preserving the traditional craft of the locality. This is also the basis for building a distinctive fish sauce brand of the Phu Loc coastal region."

Towards sustainable agriculture

More than just a source of financial support, the "Farmers' Support Fund" has become a leverage to help farmer members expand, build, and develop economic models in rural areas. Many models have increased income by 1.5 to 3 times compared to traditional production methods, contributing to job creation and improving the lives of the people.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Quang, Member of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City Farmers' Association, stated: “From 2019 to 2025, the association has supported 111 production development models for 1,206 members with a total budget of over 7.6 billion VND; of which, the City Farmers' Association contributed nearly 3.92 billion VND, with the remainder contributed by the people. In 2025 alone, the City Farmers' Association implemented support for 15 production development models involving 161 member households, with a total budget of over 1.3 billion VND, of which the support from the Farmers' Association accounted for approximately 50%. These models were implemented in various fields such as crop cultivation, livestock farming, aquaculture, traditional production, and the application of modern irrigation techniques. It is noteworthy that the models were selected to suit the characteristics of each region and the actual needs of the people.”

The "Farmers' Support Fund" is becoming a cornerstone helping many members innovate their thinking, develop their economy, and rise to prosperity. Not only does it create livelihoods and increase income, but these economic development models also open up a direction for sustainable agricultural development, contributing to ensuring the criteria for building advanced new rural areas.
