Overcoming difficulties in learning

Passion for Physics

Tran Truong Giang's house is nestled in the gentle upper reaches of the Thu Bon River in Thach Bich village (Que Lam commune, Que Son). Giang is the youngest of two children and is studying in grade 12/2. More than 15km from home, Giang left home in grade 10 to go to Trung Phuoc town, taking care of his own living expenses to pursue his studies. Before starting Physics, Giang studied all subjects and achieved high results in all of them. However, he has a special passion for natural sciences .

Truong Giang's older sister also has an impressive academic record and is currently studying at the University of Architecture in Da Nang . Following her sister's example, Giang always tries to achieve high academic results. Therefore, for 11 consecutive years, Giang has maintained the title of excellent student and was also an excellent student in the first semester of grade 12.

In the recent provincial exam for excellent students, Giang won first prize in Physics with a score of 19 out of 20. During the test, Giang read the questions once and divided her time appropriately, doing the easy questions first and then the difficult ones.

Talking about his own learning experience, Truong Giang shared: “I have a specific plan for studying as well as extracurricular activities. I study from basic to advanced and learn about the exam program knowledge online, from seniors, especially the subject teacher. Physics always has formulas and laws so I have to remember them by heart, not missing any application exercises.”

Ms. Hoang Thi Suong - Teacher at Nong Son High School said that Truong Giang has a quick mind, good learning strategy and is very modest. With his passion for researching difficult Physics exercises, he was honored to win First Prize in the recent exam. This is the biggest prize that the school has been waiting for for many years. In addition, Giang also has a talent for painting, participating in painting exhibitions at the Dai Binh Cultural Tourism Festival, painting on conical hats to sell to visitors.

Willpower to overcome difficulties

Born into a poor, farming family, with a mother who was often sick, Tran Thi Kim Anh in Khanh Binh village (Ninh Phuoc commune, Que Son), currently studying in grade 11/3, is always strong, overcoming difficulties in studying, and is the pride of her family, teachers and friends.

Understanding the family's situation, whenever she has free time, Kim Anh helps her parents with housework, farming, guides her younger brother in studying, and saves money. With her determination and constant efforts, Kim Anh has achieved the title of an excellent student for many years. Notably, recently, at the Quang Nam province's excellent student competition for the 2024-2025 school year, Kim Anh surpassed her level, competed with 12th graders, and won first prize in Geography with a score of 18/20.

Kim Anh confided: “The purpose of my participation in this contest is to broaden my knowledge in preparation for the high school graduation exam next year. I am extremely grateful to my teachers for their dedication. To study Geography well, you need to have a passion for the subject, systematize your knowledge with tree diagrams and practice your Atlas skills.”

During her secondary school years, Kim Anh participated in the STEM teaching product exhibition contest for secondary school students; the “English Talent” contest for high school students (OTE for short) with the theme “Happy School”; the “Ethical and Legal Stories” speaking contest and won many high awards at the district and provincial levels.

“I consider studying as the only chance for my family to escape poverty and pursue my dream of becoming a police officer. Although the road ahead is full of obstacles, I will do my best,” Kim Anh said. As the class’s Youth Union Secretary, Kim Anh is always a pioneer in union activities, making the class’s movement more and more prosperous. At the same time, she is active and enthusiastic in local movements.

Ms. Dang Thi Minh Hang - Homeroom teacher of class 11/3 said, Kim Anh always thinks positively, is patient in studying, and often helps weak students to improve together. She is a shining example in studying, a motivation for students of the school.
