Police also handled 254 cases related to other forms of online gambling, arresting 270 suspects and blocking or disabling 128 gambling websites and URLs.
Investigators have so far uncovered more than 2.15 billion baht circulating through these networks. Police are expanding their investigation to seize assets, track down masterminds, and track down those operating the intermediary accounts.
Lieutenant General Trairong Phiwphan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, emphasized that the main objective of the campaign is to disrupt the financial structure of online gambling networks in general. He also urged the public to view the World Cup as a sporting event, not a gambling opportunity.
