Flood discharge from Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 5

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company has announced the continued operation of the Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir to help downstream communes proactively prevent floods, while ensuring the discharge of floodwaters from the hydropower reservoir.

At the time of announcement, the Ma River water flowed into Ba Thuoc 1 hydropower reservoir with a flow of ^985m3 /s; the discharge flow downstream of Trung Son hydropower and the rainfall of the basin from Trung Son to Ba Thuoc 1, so the forecast flow to Ba Thuoc 1 reservoir was from ^750m3 /s to ^1,600m3 /s.

Therefore, Hoang Anh Thanh Hoa Hydropower Joint Stock Company continues to operate flood discharge at Ba Thuoc 1 Hydropower Reservoir from 3:30 p.m. on July 30 and is expected to end at 3:00 p.m. on August 5, 2025.

Overflow flow is ^50m3 /s to ^900m3 /s depending on the water flow to the lake. Flow through the generator is ^700m3 /s. Total water flow downstream is expected to be from ^750m3 /s to ^1,600m3 /s.

The company has issued a notice requesting the People's Committees of Thiet Ong, Ba Thuoc, Dien Lu, and Quy Luong communes to urgently notify the people and villages along the Ma River to proactively plan to protect people, property, crops, livestock, etc. It is recommended that people absolutely do not pass through dangerous areas with high risk of landslides and strong currents.
