Ten young singers and bands competed in the first semi-final round of the "Inspiration for Ho Do 2024" competition on the evening of October 25th at the Youth Cultural Center. The performances were quite diverse, with the combination of traditional Vietnamese folk singing (xẩm) and contemporary music being particularly interesting.

The HoZO Inspiration Contest 2024 is an important part of the 4th Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival - HOZO 2024. The audience is free to watch and mainly consists of young people. They enthusiastically watch and dance along to the performances.

From over 100 entries, 20 outstanding names advanced to the semi-finals.
In the first semi-final night, there were 10 contestants, either individuals or bands, competing. Each group performed 3 songs.

The performances featured a diverse range of genres, from rock, pop, folk rock, and a blend of traditional and modern styles. Each song told a unique story, mostly original compositions by the contestants, clearly reflecting the personality and style of each band and artist.
Furthermore, the contestants also aroused curiosity because most of them were young and new. Combined with their youthful energy and love of music , the contestants gave their all on stage.

Regardless of the variety of colors and messages, the song always focuses on youth, dreams, and adolescence.
Young singer Ha Myo combines traditional Vietnamese folk singing (xẩm) with contemporary music genres such as EDM, pop, and rap, creating unique and innovative songs. Ha Myo performed three outstanding pieces: Folk Melodies, Vietnamese Youth Following the Voice of the Homeland , and Hanoi Xẩm .

Meanwhile, The Snooze set the atmosphere ablaze with "I Want to Get Drunk," "It's Normal," and "Comrade ." This is a band comprised of members who work in different professions and found each other through music.
Contestant Nguyen Hoang Minh Chanh sang and rapped the songs Higher, Southside Warrior, and King quite well.
Chơn & band, with their strength in composing music in both Vietnamese and English, create music that is unique and bears a strong personal imprint.
The lyrics are full of self-reflection and a touch of youthful passion through the three performances: Bucket List, 68 Wounds of Pain , and Forest .
The D.Dix, the band that rocked the stage with three songs , "Bài số 3," "Twenties (20's ), and "Gom," brought a fresh new flavor to the competition.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Le Nhat Nam, the team leader, said:
"We prepared for today's performance for almost two months. Standing on stage, the energy from the audience made me feel very excited."
When asked about the atmosphere on the semi-final night, Nhat Nam concluded: "It was amazing!"
The second semi-final night, held on October 26th, continued with the competition among the remaining 10 contestants.
After two nights of semi-finals, the 5 most talented contestants advanced to the final round of the "Inspirational Ho Do 2024" competition, co-organized with the "Youth Concert," which took place on the night of November 24th on Nguyen Hue Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).
The winner will receive the championship title and the opportunity to perform at HOZO Super Fest 2024.
The "Ho Do Inspiration" project is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the City Youth Union and the City Music Association. It is implemented by the City Light Music Center, Beyond Communication Joint Stock Company, and the Youth Cultural Center.
