Building and developing culture and people.

Tuyen Quang – the land of the “Capital of the Liberation Zone, the Capital of the Resistance” – has always carried within it a layer of enduring cultural heritage, forged through a long history and the close ties of its diverse ethnic communities. Through countless ups and downs, the soul of Tuyen Quang has remained intact with its core values: patriotism, solidarity, loyalty, simplicity, gentleness, and unwavering determination. It is these qualities that have created the strength to overcome hardships and become a spiritual anchor for its development throughout its history.

A strong mental foundation creates new momentum.

In 2025 – the first year after the merger – the Tuyen Quang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism undertook a massive workload: perfecting the organizational structure; issuing regulations on the functions and tasks of 7 specialized departments and 8 affiliated units; advising on a series of important projects and resolutions on event organization, heritage preservation, tourism development, press management, and the development of human resources in culture and tourism. These foundational steps not only helped the department stabilize its operations after the merger but also created a solid institutional framework for long-term development.

Comrade Nguyen Trung Ngoc, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang, shared: "The merger opens up a vast space for development but also places greater responsibility on preserving identity and nurturing human values. We have determined that culture must truly be an intrinsic strength, a binding force, and a driving force for Tuyen Quang's rapid and sustainable development in the new phase."

Traditional propaganda and education activities, as well as key cultural and political events, were meticulously implemented, creating a widespread impact. Highlights included the National Day for Protecting National Security, coinciding with the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho in Tan Trao" monument; the exhibition of socio-economic achievements commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day; the "Returning to the Roots" programs; and the Buckwheat Flower Festival, attracting large numbers of people and tourists.

Reviving the identity and fostering the values of the new Tuyen Quang people.

The cultural identity of Tuyen Quang is always rich, multi-layered, and colorful, woven together by the traditions of the Tay, Dao, Nung, Mong, Pa Then, and La Chi ethnic groups. Then, Sli, and Pao Dung melodies; traditional crafts such as silver engraving, brocade weaving, and creating patterns on clothing; and traditional festivals continue to be preserved and honored. By 2025, the province will have 4 intangible cultural heritage sites submitted to the Ministry for inclusion in the National Heritage List, plus 3 national monument dossiers, and 8 provincial-level monuments currently under assessment – clear evidence of the care given to the cultural heritage of this region.

The Department also organized numerous training courses on heritage management and preservation, passed on the customs and traditions of the Dao ethnic group, opened cultural and family training classes for over 500 trainees, maintained nearly 400 family clubs, and over 2,000 community trust points… These models help culture permeate every village, every family, and every aspect of daily life, awakening the values of “Gentleness - Compassion - Unity - Creativity - Aspiration for Advancement” of the people of Tuyen Quang in the new era.

In the Tan Trao Revolutionary Base Area, the conservation and restoration project of the special national historical site is being systematically implemented: completing the design of the Revolutionary Base Area Museum exhibition, building a memorial house for President Ton Duc Thang, and restoring a series of important relics such as Ban Bung, Na Ma, Tan Trao Banyan Tree, Ngoi Village - Da Ban... Each project contributes to enriching the cultural memory and revolutionary spirit of the province.

The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang, Nguyen Trung Ngoc, emphasized: "We aim to build well-rounded Tuyen Quang people: morals, character, intellect, physical fitness, and aesthetics. Every preserved heritage, every replicated cultural model, is a brick contributing to building a new Tuyen Quang people's value system – confident, integrated, but without losing their identity."

Culture linked to tourism - A driving force for sustainable development.

In 2025, the province is expected to welcome 3.56 million visitors, including nearly 500,000 international tourists; total tourism revenue is projected to reach 9,639 billion VND, exceeding the set target. This impressive result stems from the strong efforts of the tourism industry in diversifying products, improving service quality, and promoting domestic and international communication.

The opening ceremony of the Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2025 made a strong impression with the art program "Tuyen Quang -

"Legendary Land," paragliding demonstrations, outdoor DJ sets, exhibition spaces showcasing tourism products and traditional crafts, and especially the new product "Ancient War Zone - New Experience," a tour exploring Na Hang - Lam Binh…

Alongside this, the province is promoting digital transformation in tourism. The smart tourism portal mytuyenquang.vn has reached nearly 7 million visits, and hundreds of households in mountainous areas have learned to use smartphones to promote homestays, connect with tours, and make online payments, gradually forming a "smart tourism information point" model right in their villages.

Community-based tourism models continue to spread in Na Hang, Lam Binh, Son Duong, Ham Yen, and other areas. Many cultural villages such as Nam Dip, Na Tong, Lung Hau, Lung Tam, and Trung Ha are becoming attractive destinations for tourists, creating sustainable livelihoods for the people based on their own cultural identity.

Entering 2026, the sector has identified a series of key tasks: developing a plan for preserving traditional cultural identity; a plan for developing the cultural industry; a resolution to develop tourism as a key economic sector; implementing the "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac" program; preparing a bilingual tourism map; hosting national sports events; organizing Countdown 2026… These tasks reflect a long-term vision and affirm the role of culture and tourism in the province's sustainable development strategy.

The culture and people of Tuyen Quang are embarking on a new journey – a journey of integration yet deeply rooted in their heritage, of aspiration for progress while remaining true to their identity. From traditional festivals to historical sites, from the gentle smiles of the people to the well-invested cultural institutions, everything is blending together, creating an intrinsic strength for Tuyen Quang's rapid, sustainable, and distinctive development in the future.
