Belarusian officials released information on July 2nd regarding the drone strike on the bus. Specifically, the bus, carrying 19 passengers, was traveling from the Belarusian capital Minsk to the resort city of Anapa when it was attacked near the Krasny Kamen border crossing in the Bryansk region of Russia .
The acting governor of the Bryansk region, Egor Kovalchuk, said Ukrainian forces used drones in an airstrike that he described as a "targeted attack" on civilians.
Two Belarusian drivers were injured by shrapnel. The Belarusian Ministry of Health later reported that a passenger was also injured. Emergency rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Passengers were evacuated to a temporary shelter where they were provided with hot meals and psychological support. The Belarusian citizens were then transferred to the Gomel region, while six Russians remained at the facility in the Bryansk region.
The Krasny Kamen border crossing was temporarily closed following the UAV attack, causing prolonged traffic congestion for cars and buses.

The Russian Investigative Committee accuses the Ukrainian military of carrying out another attack targeting civilians. Investigators say they are working to determine the type and model of drone used.
Minsk strongly condemned the attack. Belarusian MP Oleg Gaidukevich called it another attempt by Kyiv to draw Belarus into the broader Russia-Ukraine conflict. He said that Belarus would not be provoked and that "all those involved in terrorism and extremism will be held accountable."
The incident occurred just over two weeks after another Ukrainian drone struck a bus carrying a Belarusian youth football team in the Bryansk region, killing the coach's wife and injuring several others, including children.
Belarus described the attack as a "crime," while its president, Alexander Lukashenko, called it a deliberate act of provocation.
Ukraine has denied any responsibility.
The latest drone attack comes after a series of threats from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky against Belarus. In June, Zelensky demanded that Minsk dismantle alleged drone relay stations located near the border, warning that Kyiv would destroy them if Belarus did not act.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned Kyiv against escalating the conflict, asserting Moscow's readiness to defend Belarus under the mutual security treaty, which includes provisions for the use of nuclear weapons.
