Eliminate the 'flooding hotspots' in Dong Nai.

In recent days, several consecutive heavy rains have caused severe flooding at the Gate 11 roundabout (Long Hung ward) - one of the important traffic junctions in Dong Nai city - seriously affecting people's travel and transportation on this vital traffic artery.

According to reporters, after a prolonged rain shower in late May 2026, many sections of road around the Gate 11 roundabout were flooded with water levels ranging from 30-50cm, and in some places even deeper, forcing numerous vehicles to slow down or find alternative routes. Some motorbikes broke down while passing through the flooded area, while cars and large transport vehicles also faced significant difficulties navigating the area.

Environmental sanitation workers are clearing drainage ditches in the area around Gate 11.

The Gate 11 roundabout has long been considered a local "flooding hotspot." Located on the connecting route between National Highway 51, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, and many other important traffic routes, the area experiences very high traffic volume. Whenever heavy rains combine with high tides or the drainage system is overloaded, flooding recurs, causing prolonged traffic congestion and posing a significant safety risk to road users.

In response to this situation, the leaders of Dong Nai City have issued a document assigning the Department of Construction, in coordination with the Dong Nai City Investment and Construction Project Management Board, the People's Committees of Long Hung and Long Binh wards, and other relevant units, to conduct on-site inspections, study solutions, and propose recommendations to the City People's Committee for consideration and handling of the flooding situation on National Highway 51 and Bui Van Hoa Street.

The Department of Construction will compile the results and report them to the City People's Committee before June 9th.

Immediately afterwards, the units quickly deployed dredging and clearing work for the drainage ditches along Vo Nguyen Giap Street and National Highway 51. According to a representative of the construction unit, each team could only complete a few hundred meters per day due to garbage and mud overflowing in the drainage ditches.

Resolving the flooding issue at Gate 11 roundabout will not only improve traffic conditions but also create momentum for socio -economic development in the southern gateway area of Dong Nai province.
