Like every Vietnamese citizen, these days, Nghe An people are excitedly turning to their “origins” with gratitude for the merits of the Hung Kings who founded the country… Happily, Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh today is facing many new opportunities and chances to grow stronger.
Returning to the "origin" multiplies the value of solidarity
Coming to Kim Lien (Nam Dan district) in the early morning of the third lunar month, when the first rays of sunlight of the new day spread over the cornfields sparkling with morning dew. Uncle Ho's homeland appeared with a bright picture of peace and prosperity. Along the green new rural roads are lotus ponds beginning to bloom, the lotus scent spreading along the footsteps of people returning to their roots.
Under the familiar thatched roofs, all of us were moved when the tour guide told about Uncle Ho's childhood... Returning from faraway Germany after more than 30 years abroad, Mr. Phan Thanh Duc (Vietnamese living in Germany) shared: After so many years in a foreign land, I only wish that my extended family could come back here together to educate our children and grandchildren about the traditions and history of building the country. From there, we will multiply national pride and a clearer awareness of the responsibility to protect the Fatherland in each individual.
Among the crowd entering Uncle Ho's maternal garden in Hoang Tru village, Mr. Le Tung ( Hai Phong City) could not hide his emotions: offering incense at Uncle Ho's altar, I remember even more his great contributions to the Vietnamese people. Especially, when looking at the photos displayed about Uncle Ho, I understand more about his life and career - a great yet simple personality.
Le Thanh Bach (a student at Hanoi Law University) and his friends were also present at Kim Lien Relic Site early in the morning. “As a young party member and a student, I feel that I need to make more efforts in studying and researching to be worthy of the contributions of the previous generation as well as Uncle Ho who worked hard to build it,” Bach shared.
With the spirit of innovation and determination, and constant efforts, we believe that Nghe An province will overcome all difficulties and challenges, turning great aspirations into reality soon; achieving the goal of becoming the center of the North Central region in a number of fields... About 12km from Hoang Tru, following National Highway 46, to Hong Son Cultural Historical Relic - the only temple in Vinh City worshiping Hung Kings. Arriving before the main festival day, the atmosphere at Hong Son Temple seemed to be more bustling because of the banners, slogans, and festival flags that were hung up brightly... Carefully arranging fruits on a plate, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Vinh City shared: every year on the anniversary of the Hung Kings, I cannot go to Hung Temple to burn incense for the Hung Kings, but every year I come here, with a simple wish: to burn an incense stick in memory and gratitude to the Hung Kings.
Not only Hong Son Temple, located on Mo Da Mountain, next to National Highway 1A (Dien Chau District), Cuong Temple these days is also bustling with visitors coming to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the merits of Thuc An Duong Vuong - the 18th Hung King of the nation... At the temple yard, the elderly are holding a talk to review the tradition of building and defending the country for more than 4,000 years of our ancestors. Thereby, encouraging each person to unite and join hands to build a strong homeland, worthy of being the descendants of Lac Hong. "Every year, on the 10th of the 3rd lunar month, the whole family comes here with sea products to offer, praying for a lucky and safe new year, for smooth sailing at sea, and a full hold of silver fish", Ms. Que Thi Lan, Dien Chau District shared.
According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, the Hung King's death anniversary is an important national holiday. These days, at clans and historical sites, many localities in the province have organized a number of activities such as worshiping, introducing heritage values to students and youth union members, organizing incense offerings for people, and introducing the legend of the Lac Hong descendants.
Creating a solid foundation to enter the new era
Along with the pride of the descendants of Lac Hong, going back in time to the 70s and 80s of the last century, perhaps few people could imagine that the dry, rocky land with "patched up" roads, the names of the land and villages that just hearing them made one feel poverty... now stands in the group of localities with a fairly fast economic growth rate in the whole country.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung shared: In 2024, the province's economy will maintain a high growth rate (estimated at 9.01%), ranking 13th in the country. Budget revenue will reach more than VND 25,400 billion (the third consecutive year exceeding VND 20,000 billion)... Along with that, Nghe An is in the top 10 provinces and cities attracting the highest FDI capital in the country, which also continues to demonstrate that Nghe An's investment environment is very attractive to foreign investors. In particular, the province has completed many key tasks and key projects, creating momentum for development in the coming period. The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has received attention and focus. The leadership and direction methods of the Provincial Party Committee have been strongly innovated in a scientific, flexible and drastic direction, but still ensuring the principle of democratic centralism.
These breakthrough results are thanks to the attention and support of the Central Government, the crystallization of the spirit of solidarity, unity, efforts and aspirations of the entire Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province... However, objectively speaking, at present, Nghe An's socio-economic development is not commensurate with its potential and advantages; production and business activities are still sluggish; the quality of human resources has not met the requirements of innovation and development; the lives of a part of the people are still difficult; state management in a number of areas is still inadequate...
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said: The province has shaped ambitious development strategies and goals with a broad vision. However, in the immediate future, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee will lead and direct implementation, determined to accelerate and make breakthroughs to complete the highest level of goals and targets set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress, striving for "double-digit" economic growth by 2025...
