Immediately after the devastating storms and floods, when the traces of the natural disaster were still evident in many rural areas and homes, the Party committee, government, and various departments and organizations in Ha Tinh immediately embarked on a special "race" - a race against time to rebuild homes for the people before the traditional Lunar New Year.

The central government's directive to act "swiftly and effectively" was concretized by local authorities through the persistent efforts of grassroots officials, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and the community. Thanks to this coordinated and comprehensive effort, in just the last three months of the year, 5,623 households affected by natural disasters had their houses repaired or rebuilt with a total cost of nearly 110 billion VND (of which Vingroup supported the construction and repair of 4,723 houses).
Preparing for Tet (Lunar New Year) in her newly renovated house, repaired after the storm, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Giang ( Hoa Binh village, Loc Ha commune) emotionally shared: “Thanks to the government and organizations providing over 30 million VND in support, and the neighbors helping with labor, we now have a place to celebrate Tet. My family is extremely grateful to all levels of government, organizations, and the community!”
The joy of families like Mrs. Giang's is proof of the concern shown by all levels of government and agencies for those facing difficulties during natural disasters and floods, and also a testament to the self-reliance, resilience, and solidarity of the people of Ha Tinh.

From repairing houses after the storm, Ha Tinh continues to extend its helping hand to the poor and vulnerable during Tet (Lunar New Year) through many specific activities such as: "Tet for the Poor," "Zero-Cost Tet Market," "Compassionate Tet," "Spring in the Border Region - Warming the Hearts of the Local People," etc.
Responding to the call from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, hundreds of agencies, units, businesses, and many individuals inside and outside the province have joined hands to donate nearly 1 billion VND to support people in celebrating Tet. Each gift package is like a "spring blessing," bringing warmth and sharing to those less fortunate.
The spirit of "drinking water, remembering the source" was also strongly revived during the Lunar New Year. The province allocated over 9 billion VND to visit and give gifts to 30,212 people with meritorious services and their relatives; and presented gifts and congratulatory cards to 2,228 people turning 90 years old, totaling over 1.5 billion VND...

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh, Major General Nguyen Xuan Thao - Director of the Provincial Police, and the delegation visited and extended birthday wishes to Mrs. Bui Thi Rot (Tri Le village, Dong Kinh commune) - who is turning 100 years old this year.
In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), delegations of central and local leaders visit each family receiving preferential treatment and those who have rendered meritorious services to the nation, offering gifts and expressing gratitude, upholding moral values, and preserving the fine traditions of the nation.
For workers, especially those facing hardship, trade unions continue to be a source of support. According to Ngo Dinh Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions: “With the motto ‘All workers should have a happy Tet holiday,’ trade unions at all levels have distributed over 2,100 gifts; and supported 11 ‘Trade Union Shelters’ with a total value of nearly 3 billion VND for union members and workers in difficult circumstances.”
In addition, grassroots trade unions in units and enterprises also donated tens of thousands of gifts; and advised employers to ensure that salaries and Tet bonuses were paid in accordance with regulations.

The heartfelt generosity of those living far from home also contributes to the spring season through compassionate bus trips at the end of the year. Mr. Nguyen Phi Dan, Chairman of the Ha Tinh Business Association in the South, said: “As is customary every year, this Tet holiday, we have arranged 500 bus tickets for students and workers from Ha Tinh to return home for Tet. With the meaning that these Tet bus trips are not only a journey of returning home but also a journey of love, we hope to contribute to bringing a reunion Tet to every disadvantaged family from our hometown.”

Lunar New Year is not only a time for family reunions but also an opportunity to better appreciate the bonds that have been strengthened through a year of challenges. During these days, the value of humane social welfare policies and the solidarity and cooperation of the community becomes even more meaningful, especially for those in difficult circumstances.
The new spring has begun to knock on every door. In the countryside, having just weathered the storms and floods, the arrival of spring brings with it the warmth of human kindness, making joy more complete and spreading to every family and every situation.
