Provincial Youth Union leaders and sponsoring units presented plaques of support to help people in Northern and Central Vietnam rebuild their lives after the storms and floods.
"Spring Volunteer" is one of the nationwide youth volunteer programs implemented annually by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union. In 2026, the "Spring Volunteer" program will continue to be implemented in key areas, specifically: border areas, islands, remote areas; localities frequently affected by natural disasters, storms, floods, severe cold, drought, and saltwater intrusion; poor and newly-emerged-from-poverty communes as decided by the Prime Minister ; pilot communes for New Rural Development, and the country's frontier islands; areas inhabited by ethnic minorities with populations under 10,000; and other local areas... The program focuses on accompanying and caring for people and young people through the implementation of activities such as: "Sharing with Farmers," "For Community Health," and "For Our Beloved Children"...
Closely following the implementation of the "Spring Volunteer Program 2026" in conjunction with the "Youth Volunteering for the Community" movement and the "Youth for Social Welfare" program, many units, organizations, associations, and localities in the province have organized many meaningful and practical activities. Accordingly, in Tho Xuan commune, to join hands in supporting the poor and children with special difficulties during Tet (Lunar New Year), the commune's youth union organized programs such as "Car Wash for Fundraising - Sending Love, Spreading Compassion"; and collecting scrap materials to raise funds to give gifts to the children. Many people, despite their busy schedules, still stopped by to encourage and support the program financially, contributing their efforts to ensure its maximum effectiveness. From these small but meaningful contributions, a fund of love gradually formed, becoming a great source of encouragement for disadvantaged children during the Tet holiday and the arrival of spring. This is not just a simple charitable activity, but also a place to connect compassionate hearts, where each youth union member expresses their love, sense of responsibility, and faith in the future generation of their homeland.
Hoang Thi Phuong, Secretary of the Tho Xuan Commune Youth Union, said: “The activity received enthusiastic support from a large number of youth union members, and was also supported by many parents and people in the area. Through this activity, we have contributed to educating each youth union member and young person about responsibility, compassion, and community awareness. This is also an opportunity to promote the pioneering and volunteer role of young people in social welfare movements in the locality.”
In Pù Nhi commune, the Youth Union, in coordination with the Pù Nhi Border Guard Post, organized cleaning and sanitation activities; installed electric lights; and built a "Bright Village in the Border Region" in Com village to focus on infrastructure development (solar power, concrete roads), environmental sanitation, and production development. This aims to create a clean, beautiful, and safe environment, while also contributing to improving living standards and strengthening the bond between the military and the people in the border area. Furthermore, during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, to support people in particularly difficult circumstances to have a joyful and warm holiday, the Youth Union also coordinated the distribution of Tet gifts to poor households and provided assistance to families affected by Typhoon No. 10 in 2025, with a total value of 80 million VND.
At the provincial level, during the launching ceremony of the "Winter Volunteer Program 2025 and Spring Volunteer Program 2026," the Provincial Youth Union presented reconstructed photographs to the relatives of fallen soldiers, gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Tran Thi Minh (Ham Rong Ward), and inaugurated the digitalization project of the Memorial Area for teachers and students who sacrificed their lives at the Nam Song Ma dike construction site. In addition, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association contributed 100 million VND to the "Spring Volunteer Program 2026"; sponsoring units provided milk, warm clothes, and bicycles to disadvantaged students and supported people in Pu Nhi commune in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
Evaluating the significance and effectiveness of the program, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Le Ngoc Anh, emphasized: “The ‘Spring Volunteer’ program is a practical activity and a beautiful image in the volunteer movement of Vietnamese youth in general and Thanh Hoa province's youth in particular. It is also an environment for union members and young people to train, contribute, and grow. In implementing the ‘Spring Volunteer 2026’ campaign, a large number of union members and young people have strongly promoted the spirit of mutual support and volunteerism for community life and social security; actively participating in socio -economic development, ensuring national security and defense, bringing the intelligence and enthusiasm of youth to mountainous and remote areas of the province to undertake new and difficult tasks. At the same time, they have effectively organized youth volunteer movements linked to specific activities as directed and guided by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union.”
