Coming from the heart
Exactly 45 years ago, on January 7, 1979, patriotic forces under the banner of the Cambodian National United Front for Salvation, with the support of Vietnamese volunteer troops, entered Phnom Penh to liberate it, overthrowing the Democratic Kampuchea regime (April 17, 1975 - January 6, 1979), also known as the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime under Pol Pot. This was a momentous historical event marking the rebirth of Cambodia and its people after 3 years, 8 months, and 20 days of tragedy under a brutal genocidal regime that claimed millions of lives.
