Yen Chau welcomes the new school year

The opening day is approaching, teachers and students of schools in Yen Chau district have carefully prepared facilities and teaching equipment, creating a joyful atmosphere ready to enter the new school year 2023-2024.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Yen Chau district has 50 schools, including 4 high schools; 15 kindergartens, 13 primary schools, 2 ethnic boarding schools - junior high schools, 7 junior high schools and 9 primary and junior high schools, with nearly 20,000 students. In preparation for the new school year, the district Departmentof Education and Training directed schools to focus on reviewing facilities, promptly renovating and repairing classrooms, purchasing teaching equipment; and general cleaning of classrooms.

These days, at Huong Xoai Kindergarten, Chieng Hac Commune, teachers and parents are busy working together to renovate the campus, playground, and decorate the classrooms to be clean and beautiful, ready to welcome children back to school. The joy of this school year is that the classroom building at the Bo Kieng Kindergarten of the school was sponsored by the charity group Ford Everest Team Vietnam, with a total value of nearly 500 million VND. Up to now, the project has been completed, put into use, and is ready to welcome students to the new school year.

Ms. Pham Thi Lan, Principal of Huong Xoai Kindergarten, said: This year, the school has 14 classes, 297 students; in addition to the central school, the school also has 7 satellite schools in the villages. Along with preparing facilities, the school's Board of Directors has coordinated with local authorities to actively encourage students to attend class to ensure 100% attendance.

At this point, preparations for the new school year at Ta Vai Primary School in Chieng Hac Commune have been completed. The school will welcome 45 students to grade 1, bringing the total number of students to 258. In addition to the 19 classes at the central school, the school has 4 satellite locations.

Mr. Phan Chi Anh, Principal of Ta Vai Primary School, Chieng Hac Commune, Yen Chau District, said: Since the beginning of August, the school's staff and teachers have coordinated with parents and students to clean and repair classrooms. To ensure that 100% of students return to school on the first day of school, the school's Board of Directors has directed homeroom teachers to contact families, coordinate with the Management Boards of the villages, and encourage and remind children to attend school regularly.

To ensure the best learning environment for students, during the summer, the People's Committee of Yen Chau district invested in repairing and renovating 25 classrooms and teachers' housing, with a total cost of over 20 billion VND. The projects were completed and handed over for use before August 31.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Yen Chau district directed schools to arrange primary school locations in the direction of organizing them into clusters of schools. In villages that are too far away and where traffic conditions are not sufficient for students to travel during the day, students from grade 3 and above will be mobilized to stay in boarding schools at the commune's central schools.

Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Yen Chau district, said: In addition to investing in facilities and improving teaching quality, during the summer, the Department organizes training courses to update professional knowledge on implementing the new textbook program for grades 4 and 8 for teachers. At the same time, absorb new changes and adjustments in the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training to suit local conditions. Direct schools to develop scientific and vivid electronic lesson plans to help students access new knowledge in an intuitive and vivid way.

With careful preparation of facilities, along with the initiative, flexibility and creativity of the staff and teachers of the schools in developing content, programs and teaching methods at all levels, teachers and students of Yen Chau district are determined to achieve the best results from the first days of school.
