With the opening day of the school year fast approaching, teachers and students in schools throughout Yen Chau district have meticulously prepared the necessary facilities and teaching equipment, creating a joyful atmosphere and ready to embark on the new 2023-2024 school year.

For the 2023-2024 school year, Yen Chau district has 50 schools, including 4 high schools; 15 kindergartens, 13 primary schools, 2 ethnic boarding schools - junior high schools, 7 junior high schools, and 9 combined primary and junior high schools, with nearly 20,000 students. In preparation for the new school year, the District Department of Education and Training directed schools to focus on reviewing facilities, promptly renovating and repairing classrooms, purchasing teaching equipment, and conducting thorough cleaning of school premises.

These days, at Huong Xoai Kindergarten in Chieng Hac commune, teachers and parents are busy working together to renovate the school grounds, playground, and decorate classrooms to be clean, beautiful, and ready to welcome the children back to school. This school year is particularly joyful as the school's classroom building at the Bo Kieng branch was newly constructed with funding from the Ford Everest Team Vietnam charity group, totaling nearly 500 million VND. The project has now been completed and put into use, ready to welcome students for the new school year.
Ms. Pham Thi Lan, Principal of Huong Xoai Kindergarten, said: This year, the school has 14 classes and 297 students; in addition to the central school campus, there are 7 satellite campuses in various villages. Along with preparing the facilities, the school's management board, in coordination with the local authorities, actively encouraged students to attend classes, ensuring 100% enrollment.

By this time, preparations for the new school year at Ta Vai Primary School in Chieng Hac commune have been completed. The school will welcome 45 first-grade students, bringing the total number of students to 258. In addition to the 19 classes at the central school site, the school has 4 satellite locations.
Mr. Phan Chi Anh, Principal of Ta Vai Primary School in Chieng Hac commune, Yen Chau district, said: "From the beginning of August, school staff and teachers, in coordination with parents and students, have been carrying out thorough cleaning and repairs of the school buildings. To ensure 100% student attendance on the opening day, the school's management board instructed homeroom teachers to contact families, coordinate with village management boards, and encourage and remind children to attend school regularly."

To ensure the best learning environment for students during the summer, the People's Committee of Yen Chau district invested in repairing and renovating 25 classrooms and teacher housing facilities, with a total cost of over 20 billion VND. The projects were completed and handed over for use before August 31st.
In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Yen Chau district directed schools to reorganize scattered primary school branches into clusters of schools based on village areas. In villages that are too far apart and where transportation is not adequate for students to travel daily, students from grade 3 and above will be mobilized to board at the central school branches of the commune.
Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet, Head of the Education and Training Department of Yen Chau District, said: In addition to investing in facilities and improving teaching quality, during the summer, the Department organizes training courses to update professional knowledge on the implementation of the new textbook program for grades 4 and 8 for teachers. At the same time, it incorporates new changes and adjustments in the curriculum from the Ministry of Education and Training to suit the local conditions. It directs schools to develop scientific and engaging electronic lesson plans, helping students access new knowledge in a visual and lively way.

With thorough preparation in terms of facilities, along with the proactive, flexible, and creative approach of the staff and teachers in schools at all levels in developing content, programs, and teaching methods, teachers and students throughout Yen Chau district are determined to achieve the highest possible results from the very first days of school.
