Promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers

Over the years, Captain Phung Thanh Viet, an ordnance officer at the Military Command of Thu Thua District, Long An Province, has continuously studied, trained, and cultivated his moral character and clean lifestyle, effectively upholding the qualities of a soldier of Uncle Ho's army , actively advising, deploying, and effectively implementing the field assigned to him.

Captain Phung Thanh Viet shared: “Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, I am most impressed by the content of 'saying and doing go hand in hand' and 'saying and doing effectively.' Therefore, I always consider this an important lesson to apply in practice to my professional work to successfully complete all assigned tasks.”

In addition to performing his professional duties well, Captain Phung Thanh Viet is also enthusiastic about labor and production.

As an ordnance officer, he consistently performed his duties well, advising and proposing to the Logistics and Technical Department on the implementation of military and national defense tasks such as technical work, effectively meeting the requirements of training, live firing exercises, and combat readiness of the unit; ensuring the proper maintenance of weapons and equipment, ensuring their durability, safety, and cost-effectiveness, absolutely preventing damage or deterioration of weapons and equipment.

At the same time, he regularly maintained fire prevention and fighting equipment and fire extinguishers in accordance with regulations; he also maintained and preserved fire fighting equipment to meet the requirements of combat readiness and fire prevention and fighting tasks of the unit.

He had many initiatives and made recommendations to the Logistics and Technical Department on increasing agricultural production to improve meals for the unit. Specifically, he advised on strengthening agricultural production to ensure the supply of vegetables, pork, wild boar, fish, etc., to the mess hall at a cost of 7,000 VND/person/day; he also implemented good hygiene and disease prevention measures, and provided good healthcare for officers and soldiers during training and recruitment, ensuring a healthy troop strength of 99%.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Nhan - Political Commissar of the Thu Thua District Military Command, commented: "Captain Phung Thanh Viet is always active and proactive in his work, has a high sense of responsibility, and is not afraid of difficulties or hardships. Whenever the unit needs him, day or night, he is always there, despite his difficult family circumstances, having lost his wife and raising his children alone."

With his enthusiastic, scientific, and efficient work ethic, Captain Phung Thanh Viet has been recognized as an outstanding Party member for five consecutive years (2020-2024); he has also been awarded the titles of Emulation Soldier and Advanced Soldier, and has received numerous commendations and certificates for his achievements in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh, as well as for his professional duties.

In 2024 alone, he was awarded a certificate of commendation by the People's Committee of Thu Thua District for his excellent achievements in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the period 2021-2024.

With comprehensive leadership, guidance, and implementation, along with the solidarity, enthusiasm, and responsibility of all officers and soldiers, the intensive emulation movement took place vigorously and widely with many activities.
