From a young age, Nguyễn Lê Tiến was fascinated by beautiful images of his homeland. He often cut out landscape photos taken by photographers from wall calendars to admire. In his tenth grade year, when his parents gave him a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone, his photography journey began. After school, he would wander around Thạnh Hoá district, Long An province, diligently taking many photos of rivers, villages, and more, finding joy and relaxation in his life through photography.
As photography groups on Facebook grew, he often posted photos to get feedback; he diligently sought out photography knowledge, taught himself through YouTube; and read comments and viewed exhibition photos of senior photographers on social media... to learn and accumulate experience.
During his senior year of high school, noticing his passion for photography, his homeroom teacher sold him a Sony DSC H300 camera at a low price and allowed him to contribute 100,000 VND each week. Thanks to this, he was able to own his first camera and take many photos until he went to university.
"Photography has changed my life a lot. While in university, in a dynamic and creative environment, photography gave me the opportunity to meet many people and connect with friends; from there, I gained more social relationships and got my current job," shared young photographer Nguyen Le Tien.
Born in a peaceful village on the border of Long An province, his childhood, like that of many others, was intertwined with rivers, mangrove forests, and rice paddies. Memories of the beautiful Mekong Delta remain vivid in his mind, influencing his current journey of striving, studying, training, and working – scenes of fishing on the river, hardworking people toiling in the rain-soaked fields, harvesting water spinach, sowing rice seedlings, and enjoying a bountiful pineapple harvest…
Later, after graduating from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and attending a reserve officer training course, he not only honed his military skills and knowledge but also nurtured his love for the military uniform.
From there, he gained more favorite topics about soldiers on the training ground and training activities: Brigade 25 with images of the PMP ferry carrying vehicles across the river, securing the ferry after launching, assembling and connecting the pontoon sections, the commander leaving the ferry...; the live-fire competition of the Army Air Defense Force - People's Air Defense Force... In addition, he also has interesting works about the forest rangers who are the "foster fathers" of sea turtles in Con Dao National Park, which is recognized by the national record book for releasing the most baby turtles back into the sea...
He said that he will create more works in the future, bringing more beautiful images of soldiers closer to the people.
