Speaking at the conference, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc said that during this difficult period, the Ministry of Finance proactively proposed, submitted to competent authorities, and issued within its authority many solutions in the financial sector, especially policies related to tax deferral, reduction, and postponement, land rent, etc., to provide timely support and resolve difficulties for the business community and the people.
"These are policy solutions regarding the extension, exemption, and reduction of taxes, fees, charges, and land rent; exemption and reduction of corporate income tax and personal income tax; a 2% reduction in value-added tax; reduction of import tax and environmental protection tax, especially on petroleum products; and reduction of 36 fees and charges to support businesses, people, and the economy . The total scale of support solutions in 2020 is approximately 129,000 billion VND, in 2021 approximately 145,000 billion VND, and in 2022 approximately 233,000 billion VND," Minister Ho Duc Phoc shared.
According to the head of finance, a strong economy is built on strong businesses; the economy depends on the "health" of businesses. When businesses are doing well, they will pay taxes in full, and also repay bank loans and insurance payments properly. Conversely, when businesses struggle, the economy will struggle.
"The Ministry of Finance wholeheartedly commends and acknowledges the contributions of the business community to the country's socio-economic development. We are committed to creating favorable conditions for businesses to develop and removing obstacles related to tax, customs, and treasury policies."
"In particular, we will focus on improving the legal and policy mechanisms, and proposing support policies to create capital sources for business development," Mr. Phuoc emphasized.
