196 teams participate in the Becamex Group Community Football Tournament 2025

(NLDO) - Binh Duong's oldest tournament has officially opened its 18th season with 196 competing teams.

On the morning of June 29, the 18th Becamex Group Community Football Tournament - Becamex Group Cup (formerly known as Binh Duong New City Football Tournament) officially opened. This is considered the largest 11-a-side grassroots tournament in the country, continuing to affirm its position as the leading community sports festival in the Southern region.

This year, the tournament continues to record a record size with 196 teams and nearly 5,000 players when expanding registration to include people from Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

The tournament is held on 4 clusters of fields with a knockout format, selecting 16 teams to enter the final round, the total prize value of the tournament is more than 200 million VND, of which the champion team receives 100 million VND. In addition, the participating teams are also supported with funding and competition uniforms.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh Huy delivered the opening speech of the tournament.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh Huy, Deputy General Director of Becamex Group, said: "After 17 seasons of professional organization, the tournament has become the largest community playground in the country for workers, with this year marking a record of 196 participating teams.

The renaming of the tournament represents Becamex's new vision and long-term commitment to taking care of the spiritual life of workers and connecting the community in the key economic region of the South. We believe that this year's tournament will be exciting, attractive and successful."

Coach Anh Duc and leaders and representatives of departments and branches attended the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Mr. Vu Duc Thanh, Chairman of Binh Duong Football Federation, also emphasized: "Over the past 18 years, the tournament has become an annual meeting place for young people who love football. In particular, this year's tournament takes place in the context of the merger of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , opening up many opportunities for connection between localities."

With increasing professionalism and quality, the tournament promises to continue to be the largest community sports festival in the country.
