Runner-up Ngo Van Han has passed away.

TPO - Miss Hong Kong 1998 runner-up, Ngô Văn Hân, passed away at the age of 52 after a four-year battle with breast cancer.

Through social media, the family of former Miss Vietnam runner-up Ngo Van Han announced the sad news to the public and media that she passed away at the age of 52 in the early morning of June 9th. Relatives said that on June 7th, she was hospitalized due to her worsening condition. In her final days, her two daughters, along with family and friends, were by her side.

"We believe that Van Han has peacefully departed, taking happiness and love with her. Throughout her battle with illness, she was incredibly strong. In her limited time, she did things she never thought possible, fulfilling her dreams. We are proud of her," the actress's family wrote in a letter to the public.

Ngo Van Han passed away at the age of 52.

In March, close friends held a farewell party for Ngo Van Han. During the party, they confided in each other about things they hadn't had a chance to share before. Friends also prepared an album preserving moments from their childhood to adulthood for them to look back on together.

The last time Ngô Văn Hân appeared in the media was in April, when she attended a Grasshopper concert. At that time, Văn Hân chatted with her close friend Thái Nhất Kiệt.

Ngô Văn Hân discovered a hard lump in her left breast in 2022. After undergoing extensive tests, doctors confirmed she had breast cancer. The actress has undergone cancer treatment for many years. At one point, she had to be hospitalized for 16 days due to fluid buildup in her heart and lungs, causing her health to deteriorate.

Ngo Van Han was married to a businessman surnamed Tran, and publicly divorced him in June 2025, after 14 years of marriage. They have two daughters, aged 11 and 9.

Ngô Văn Hân was the second runner-up in the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1998. She was one of the familiar faces on Hong Kong screens in the early 2000s. In recent years, Ngô Văn Hân has withdrawn from showbiz and switched to working in the finance sector.
