NDO - On the evening of November 17th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the final round of the AI Hackathon 2024, themed "Protecting the Green Planet," concluded with creative presentations and emotional performances from talented teams. The competition was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with KDI Education.
The AI Hackathon 2024 finals are a platform for creative talents, where teams must showcase their abilities and convince a prestigious judging panel comprised of leading experts in education and artificial intelligence.
Sharing the purpose of the AI Hackathon 2024, Mr. Nguyen Viet Trung, Deputy General Director of KDI Education, said, "This year's competition is organized to help students have the opportunity to get closer to artificial intelligence (AI) technology, learn how to apply it to solve problems in life, and nurture their passion for technology, while also hoping to contribute to nurturing future technological potential."
In the final round, the 12 strongest teams in Group A (elementary school) presented their projects live to the judging panel. The outstanding ideas brought by the students impressed not only with their creativity but also with their focus on pressing environmental issues.

In the final results of Group A, the team from Cu Chi Town Primary School excellently won first prize with their project "Smart Study Lamp with AIOT Technology," which integrates various technologies such as Teachable Machine, Yolo Uno circuit, light sensor, AI camera, etc.
Coming in second place was the team from Truong Dinh Primary School, District 12, with their project "Green Gift Box," which aims to help students raise awareness of environmental protection by properly sorting waste, accumulating points, and receiving gifts.
Third prize went to the team from the ICS Bilingual School system with their project "ECOSORT". Through this project, the students hope to spread awareness to other schools so that their peers understand more about waste sorting and contribute to protecting the planet.

Equally captivating were the dramatic and explosive showdowns between the 12 best teams (2 teams per team) from the two groups: Group B (middle school) and Group C (high school), using AI-integrated robots to solve problems and achieve outstanding scores.
In the final results, teams B119 - Tan Thanh Dong Junior High School and B137 - Town 2 Junior High School won first place in Group B. The championships in Group C went to teams C002 - Ly Thuong Kiet High School and C001 - Thu Duc High School.
Second place in Group B went to teams B076 - Nguyen Binh Khiem Junior High School and B023 - Hai Ba Trung Junior High School. Second place in Group C went to teams C056 - Long Truong High School and C016 - Nguyen Huu Tien High School.

Third place winners in groups B and C were: B027 - Nguyen Van To Junior High School and B111 - Hoang Hoa Tham Junior High School; C010 - Thu Duc High School and C008 - Thu Duc High School, respectively.
In addition, to foster creativity and encourage young talents, the organizers have awarded more prizes to participating teams in all three categories, including: Encouragement Prize, Innovation Prize, Team Prize, and Potential Prize.
Ms. Phan Thi Quy Truc, Deputy Head of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Management Department ( Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology), shared that this competition demonstrates the limitless creativity of students. The enthusiasm of youth and the boundless application of AI have enabled them to create products that solve many practical problems.

The AI Hackathon 2024 is one of the events within the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week (WHISE 2024). The success of the competition marks an important step for KDI Education in its journey to help discover and develop the capabilities of its students, providing them with valuable experiences.
