On the morning of January 20th, within the grounds of Thanh Nhan Hospital, nearly 20 stalls were selling various household goods, nutritional food, banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), Tet jam, clothing, shoes, warm blankets, etc., all for free, to serve the needs of patients receiving treatment there during the days leading up to Tet. With each voucher at the fair, patients (or their relatives) could receive 5 free items.

Mr. Tran The Quang, Deputy Director of Thanh Nhan Hospital, said: "Today's 'Zero-Cost Fair' is not just about providing material support, but also about offering encouragement and sharing with compassion, embodying the spirit of 'mutual support,' contributing to a warm Tet holiday for patients in difficult circumstances."
This year, Thanh Nhan Hospital is giving away more than 500 gifts to patients currently receiving treatment there. In addition, the hospital is organizing a music and dance program to boost the morale of the patients.
Attending the "Zero-Cost Tet Fair," patient Nguyen Thi Lan (from Hanoi ) shared: "I am very happy and touched by the feelings and sharing of doctors and philanthropists towards patients. The fair has helped many patients feel warmhearted as the traditional Tet holiday approaches, even while they are battling illness in the hospital."
Over the past few days, Bach Mai Hospital has also organized a "Tet Market of Love" to raise funds for patients in difficult circumstances who have to stay at the hospital for treatment during Tet. Sharing about the meaning of the "Tet Market of Love," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of the hospital, said: "Besides treating patients, we want to contribute to sharing difficulties, spreading love, and bringing warm Tet days to patients and their families who have to stay at the hospital and cannot celebrate Tet at home. This is also a bridge full of love between doctors and patients during the spring festival at Bach Mai Hospital."
At the National Children's Hospital, "Spring of Love" is an annual and meaningful activity of the hospital during the Lunar New Year, aiming to bring the spirit of Tet, encouragement, and sharing to child patients and their families receiving treatment at the hospital. This year's program donated nearly 2,000 gifts through 37 free stalls to children and their families.
According to Dr. Trinh Ngoc Hai, Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital: Currently, the hospital receives approximately 4,000 outpatients daily, with over 2,000 inpatients and 120 cases requiring mechanical ventilation each day. Most of these children come from distant provinces, suffer from serious illnesses, and face significant economic difficulties.
"Therefore, every Lunar New Year, we call upon sponsors and philanthropists to join hands with the hospital to care for the children undergoing treatment with gifts, both material and spiritual, to help them have more motivation to fight their illnesses, and return to their families and friends to celebrate the New Year and continue their studies. In addition to today's program, to ensure a warm Tet holiday for the child patients, the hospital has a plan to support approximately 1,000 child patients who remain in treatment during the Tet holiday. It is expected that during the four days of Tet, the hospital and sponsors will provide free meals and essential necessities for the children," shared Master's student Trinh Ngoc Hai.
As usual, with the desire to share and support hospitalized patients during the period leading up to and during the Lunar New Year, most hospitals organize activities demonstrating "mutual support and compassion." This not only provides material assistance but also serves as a valuable source of moral encouragement, helping patients feel more confident in their treatment journey.
