Among these initiatives, the "Helping Hands" model stands out, organized to support and encourage new recruits whose families are poor or facing difficult circumstances.

To ensure the program's effectiveness, immediately after receiving new recruits, the Party Committee and command of Battalion 2 led and directed Party committees and officers at all levels to review files, verify information, actively follow up, directly investigate, and propose support for new recruits whose families are poor or in difficult circumstances. At the same time, the unit intensified education and propaganda to help officers and soldiers understand the significance of the program and participate actively and responsibly; calling on and mobilizing officers and soldiers not only in Battalion 2 but also throughout the Brigade to contribute to fundraising and share in helping the families of new recruits in difficult circumstances.

Colonel Pham Van Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the 29th Signal Brigade, presents support to new recruits facing difficult circumstances.

Officers and soldiers of Battalion 2 donated to support the families of new recruits facing difficult circumstances.

As one of the new recruits in 2025, Private Ha Quoc Khoi, from Company 5, Battalion 2, has a mother with terminal cancer and a father with lung disease who cannot do heavy labor, making his family's situation very difficult. Upon receiving support from his unit, Private Ha Quoc Khoi emotionally stated: “The unit's support has given my family more motivation and funds to overcome difficulties and stabilize our lives. I am very touched and I tell myself that I need to try harder in my studies and training, striving to complete all assigned tasks well so as not to disappoint the care of my superiors and comrades.”

According to Lieutenant Colonel Bui Trong Phi Long, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Battalion 2: “Since its implementation in 2018, through the ‘Helping Hands’ program, the unit has raised funds to support 45 families of new recruits who are poor and in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of nearly 100 million VND. Depending on the situation and circumstances of each family, the unit will organize a gathering or visit them in person to directly hand over the donated money to support the families of the new recruits.”

It is evident that the "Helping Hands" model of Battalion 2 has become a beautiful and profoundly humane tradition, reviving the spirit of mutual support and compassion; providing motivation for soldiers and their families to overcome difficulties; and strengthening the bonds of camaraderie and solidarity between soldiers and civilians.
