The strength of silk painting lies in the clarity and gentleness of its colors; the delicate and elegant lines, imbued with the soul of the nation. However, to create silk paintings of such unique quality, the artist must possess solid expertise and a passionate dedication to exploration and creativity. Silk painting requires great restraint because once the silk absorbs the color, it cannot be "corrected," unlike oil paint or pigments, where one color can be layered on top of another.

Throughout the works of artist Ta Hung Viet, the image of the comb is central. It appears alongside images of young women combing their hair to enhance their beauty, and alongside the comb a grandmother uses to comb her grandchild's hair, symbolizing close family bonds. The story of these combs connects the past, present, and future, simultaneously evoking nostalgic memories of the past and prompting reflections on contemporary family life and activities.

It took nearly two years to complete this series of paintings, and artist Do Thu Huong has shown a shift in the depth of her work. Previously, she was passionate about painting landscapes, still lifes, children, flowers, and especially the costumes of ethnic minorities. In this exhibition, Do Thu Huong paints many portraits of young women in traditional five-panel ao dai dresses, with the backdrop being the doors of the Ly-Tran dynasties. The feminine beauty, deeply Vietnamese in Do Thu Huong's paintings, captivates the audience, from the five-panel ao dai dresses to the suggestions of Nguyen dynasty attire, worn by gentle, feminine girls, embodying a pure Vietnamese essence.
