The Amazon 2025 e-commerce export conference continued to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on July 25, marking an important milestone in establishing a three-year cooperative relationship that was just announced between the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) - Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam.

Amazon Global Selling Vietnam representative gave suggestions based on three core pillars: customer-centricity, product innovation and brand development. This “orientation triangle” guides businesses in capturing international customer trends, developing innovative product features such as sustainability and multi-functionality, and building a strong brand identity.

Amazon also supports with specialized tools like Product Opportunity Explorer for researching product opportunities, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) for logistics, and A+ Content and Brand Registry for branding.

The conference proposed practical solutions to support Vietnamese enterprises in developing "Viet-Selection", Vietnam's unique strengths. These activities included industry-specific discussion sessions, the launch of a product selection guide, and in-depth training programs.

Among the potential Viet-Selection categories that Amazon will promote are the Vietnamese Wood and Furniture industry, promoting the strength of wood processing; the Vietnamese Food industry, promoting the unique flavors and rich agricultural advantages; and the Vietnamese Garment industry, building on the existing long-standing garment manufacturing experience.

At the program, Mr. Larry Hu, Director of Amazon Global Selling Southeast Asia, emphasized: “Amazon Global Selling is committed to accompanying Vietnamese businesses in the process of transforming from the role of a manufacturer to an international brand owner, opening up new opportunities for businesses that are ready to bring their products to the world market.”

Topics presented at the conference focused on transformational opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to grow beyond their traditional manufacturing strengths. Although Vietnam’s manufacturing industry is showing many positive signs – typically an 11.5% increase in wood export turnover by early 2025 – industry leaders said businesses still face many challenges, from rising international shipping costs to global competition and increasingly stringent environmental and quality standards.
