According to Wccftech , although AMD hasn't officially launched the Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs yet, rumors have surfaced about a special variant of the RX 9070 XT with up to 32GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. Furthermore, this version is still a gaming GPU, not a PRO product for professional use.
Currently, the Radeon RX 9070 XT is expected to launch in March with 16 GB of VRAM, but sources indicate AMD may introduce a 32 GB version in the first half of 2025. Doubling the memory capacity could make this graphics card more suitable for applications requiring large amounts of VRAM, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and large language modeling (LLM), while still ensuring gaming performance comparable to the 16 GB version.

Based on the RDNA 4 architecture, AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series could focus on performance and VRAM improvements, represented by the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, expected to launch in early 2025.

Technically, to achieve 32 GB of VRAM, AMD would need to use 16 2 GB GDDR6 memory modules, as 4 GB GDDR6 chips are not currently available. This could force the company to place some modules on the back of the motherboard, significantly increasing production costs. However, the memory bus will remain at 256-bit, with a speed of 20 Gbps, ensuring consistent bandwidth.
If the rumors are accurate, this would be AMD's first gaming GPU with 32 GB of VRAM. However, the actual ability to utilize this entire memory capacity in games remains questionable, as most current games don't fully exploit the potential of such a large amount of graphics memory. Instead, the card might be more useful for tasks that require a lot of VRAM, such as 3D rendering or small-scale AI training.
The 16GB Radeon RX 9070 XT is currently expected to compete directly with Nvidia's RTX 5070 Ti, which is projected to cost $749. If AMD does release a 32GB version, this could be a strategy to diversify its product line, attracting users who need large memory but don't want to invest in more expensive professional GPUs. However, the price of the 32GB version has not yet been revealed, and its competitiveness will depend heavily on its actual performance upon release.
