Amorim continued to appear with a smile on his face, a stark contrast to the storm of criticism and controversy surrounding him at Old Trafford. Amorim had also been seen smiling broadly immediately after being sacked by MU.

Amorim parted ways with MU on January 5th, just one day after a tense press conference following the 1-1 draw with Leeds United. At that time, he publicly issued an ultimatum to the board: "Either support me or sack me." That move was considered the final straw, causing a complete breakdown in his relationship with the club's top management.

According to British media, Amorim received over £10 million in compensation. He, his wife Maria, and their two children live in a rented villa costing £15,000 a month in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
