TPO - Despite the drizzling rain and cold wind, dozens of youth union members from Quy Hop 3 High School in Quy Hop district, Nghe An province, braved the mud to plant rice for disadvantaged families and those receiving social welfare benefits.
These days, dressed in their volunteer blue uniforms, more than 40 students from class 11C2 of Quy Hop 3 High School, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province, have been going to the fields to help plant rice for disadvantaged families and those receiving government assistance. |
After reviewing and learning about the difficult circumstances, youth union members volunteered to help Mr. Lo Duc Kiem's family (60 years old, residing in Quang Huong hamlet, Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district) plant rice. Mr. Kiem's family is in difficult circumstances. Their children have all gone away to work, and the couple relies on each other. His wife, Ms. Ha Thi Huong, suffers from a thyroid tumor. Normally, it takes the couple more than two days to plant rice on over 4 sao (approximately 0.4 hectares) of land. |
Barefoot and undeterred by muddy conditions, they enthusiastically planted rice seedlings. |
| After finishing planting rice for Mr. Kiem's family, the youth union members divided into small groups to help other families plant their rice. In one afternoon, the young people helped five households plant their rice. |
This activity demonstrates the sense of responsibility and proactive volunteer spirit of young people. |
