Selling pressure increased, VN-Index turned down nearly 12 points

NDO - On May 16, the Vietnamese stock market fell after four consecutive sessions of increase. Selling pressure increased across the board, especially in banking stocks, causing the VN-Index to weaken. At the end of the session, the VN-Index fell 11.81 points to 1,302.39 points. Despite being negatively affected in the last session of the week, overall, the VN-Index still recorded a positive trading week.

Market liquidity decreased significantly compared to the previous session, with total trading volume on the three exchanges reaching more than 1,052 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND 22,048 billion.

Foreign investors turned to net sell on all 3 floors more than 799.90 billion VND, focusing on codes VCB (245.46 billion VND), FPT (22.30 billion VND), VHM (188.87 billion VND), MSN (102.50 billion VND), VPB (70.37 billion VND)...

On the contrary, the stocks with the most net purchases in this session included MWG (125.62 billion VND), HSG (96.11 billion VND), TCH (92.82 billion VND), MBB (79.94 billion VND), NLG (53.13 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the order matching value this session decreased compared to the previous session, reaching more than 19,272 billion VND.

In this session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increased by more than 2.91 points include: VPL, GEE, GEX, VRE, VIC, VTP, HSG, TCH, SAB, PLX.

On the contrary, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index by more than 9.32 points included: VCB, FPT, BID, CTG, VPB, TCB, MBB, HPG, STB, LPB.

In terms of industry groups, this session, software stocks were in red, down 3.18%, mainly from FPT, CMG, PIA, CMT... On the other hand, a few stocks increased including ITD, PAI...

The group of securities stocks also leaned towards red, down 0.82%, mainly from codes SSI, VCI, VND, VIX, HCM, MBS, FUEVFVND, BSI, SHS... On the contrary, the codes that increased included CTS, ORS, APG, VFS, AAS, TCI, MBS, TVB, ...

Similarly, the banking stocks group traded poorly this session and decreased by 1.76%, mainly from the codes VCB, BID, CTG, TCB, MBB, VPB, ACB , LPB, HDB, STB... The few codes that increased included NVB, BAB, EVF, VAB, PGB...

The real estate stocks group this session recorded an increase of 0.15%, mainly from codes VIC, VRE, SSH, NVL, KBC, KSF, VPI... On the contrary, the codes that decreased included KDH, PDR, SIP, DIG, HDG, TAL, CEO, SZC, IJC, HDC...

Energy stocks fell 1.36% this session, mainly from codes BSR , PVS, PVD, TMB, CLM, PVC, CST, PVB, AAH...

The group of raw material stocks was dominated by red, recording a decrease of 1.23%, mainly from codes HPG, GVR, DGC, KSV, MSR, DCM, DPM, BMP... On the contrary, the codes that increased included VGC, NTP, HSG, ACG, TVN, DDV, DPR, TDP, RTB...

Insurance stocks decreased by 1.59%, mainly from codes BVH, PVI, BIC, MIG, BMI, PTI, PRE, BHI... Increasing direction included codes VNR, PGI...

Retail stocks traded poorly this session, down 0.83%, mainly from codes MWG, PNJ, FRT, DGW, VFG, PET, CTF, HAX, TLP, CLX, VPG... On the contrary, the codes increased including PLX, SAS, PEG, DP1, SMC, SHN, TLH, VVS...

* The Vietnamese stock market index turned down today, VNXALL-Index closed down more than 24.75 points (-1.14%), down to 2,145.29 points. Liquidity with a trading volume of more than 878.26 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 20,734.16 billion. In the whole market, there were 148 stocks increasing in price, 74 stocks remaining unchanged and 232 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 218.69 points, down 0.59 points (-0.27%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 81.24 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND1,146.06 billion. In the whole market, 60 stocks increased in price, 55 stocks remained unchanged and 103 stocks decreased in price.

The HNX30 index closed down 4.3 points (-0.98%) to 435.4 points. Trading volume reached over 39.15 million units, equivalent to over VND792.46 billion. In the whole market, there were 2 stocks increasing in price, 8 stocks remaining unchanged and 20 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 95.5 points, down 0.04 points (-0.04%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached more than 76.5 million shares, corresponding trading value reached more than 562.8 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 164 stocks increasing in price, 127 stocks remaining unchanged and 156 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 11.81 points (-0.9%) to 1,302.39 points. Liquidity reached over 905.7 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over VND20,756 billion. The entire floor had 132 stocks increasing, 46 stocks remaining unchanged and 186 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 index decreased by 17.05 points (-1.22%) and stopped at 1,384.44 points. Liquidity reached more than 344.35 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 10,319.33 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 4 stocks increasing, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 24 stocks decreasing.

The 5 stocks with the highest trading volume are BCG (over 33.47 million units), NVL (over 22.62 million units), HSG (over 16.8 million units), DXG (over 15.52 million units), EVF (over 15.27 million units).
