The tournament is a traditional playground within the national competition system, organized annually by the Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
The tournament officially starts from July 3 to July 14, 2025 at Binh Duong Stadium.
Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong - Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Huu Dat - Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the local Organizing Committee.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented meaningful gifts and scholarships to ethnic minority players playing for teams participating in this year's Final Round, in order to recognize and encourage their efforts in pursuing their passion for football.
Representatives of Ho Chi Minh City leaders and the tournament organizers presented gifts to ethnic minority players in the teams participating in this year's finals.
Representing Dong Luc Sports Group, Ms. Le Vu Hong Ngoc, Marketing Director, performed the ceremony of handing over the match ball to the referee team in charge of the opening match.
Right after the opening ceremony was the first match of Group A. In the opening match, U13 Becamex Binh Duong let U13 Binh Duong equalize 2-2 after leading by two goals, missing the opportunity to win all 3 points. In the remaining match, U13 Phu Tho scored an equalizer in the last minute, thereby holding U13 Ha Noi to a 1-1 draw.
U13 Becamex Binh Duong (purple) was equalized by U13 Binh Duong (orange) in the last minute, the two teams finally tied with a score of 2-2.
U13 Phu Tho (blue) was lucky to hold U13 Hanoi (orange) to a 1-1 draw with a last-minute equalizer.
Earlier in the morning, matches in Group B and Group C were also exciting. In Group B, U13 Da Nang defeated U13 Hue with a score of 1-0, while U13 VES Ba Ria - Vung Tau won against U13 Haduwaco Hai Duong with the same score. In Group C, U13 Hong Linh Ha Tinh defeated U13 Navy Phu Nhuan (HCMC) 2-0; the remaining match between U13 Quang Nam and U13 Nam Dinh ended in a 1-1 draw.
The tournament will continue to be exciting on July 5 with 8 matches taking place in all 4 groups, promising to bring exciting competitions between young football talents nationwide.

After 28 seasons, the tournament has not only been increasingly improved in terms of organization and expertise, but also become a launching pad for many young Vietnamese football talents such as: Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Van Toan, Vu Van Thanh, Pham Duc Huy, Luong Xuan Truong, Nham Manh Dung...
This year, the tournament has the participation of 16 excellent teams that passed the qualifying round in three regions: Hai Phong, Dak Lak and Ba Ria - Vung Tau; drawn into 4 groups. In which, group A is considered the "death group" including the teams: U.13 Binh Duong, U.13 Becamex Binh Duong, U.13 PVF and U13 Song Lam Nghe An. Group B includes the teams: U.13 VES Ba Ria - Vung Tau, U.13 Haduwaco Hai Duong, U.13 Hue, U.13 Da Nang. Group C has the participation of the teams: U.13 Navy Phu Nhuan (HCMC), U.13 Nam Dinh, U.13 Quang Nam, U.13 Hong Linh Ha Tinh. Group D has the teams: U.13 Ho Chi Minh City, U.13 Hanoi, U.13 LP Bank Hoang Anh Gia Lai and U.13 Phu Tho.
In addition, this year's tournament also has a special meaning as it is the first sporting event to take place in Thu Dau Mot Ward after the administrative merger of three provinces and cities: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City into Ho Chi Minh City. The event takes place at the right time when the whole country is ready to enter the era of national development, demonstrating the aspirations of the young generation.
