The Student Party Branch of the University of Economics (Da Nang University) recently collaborated with the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) to successfully organize the 3rd "Journey to Unification 2025" website design competition.

The competition aims to awaken national pride, foster creativity, and enhance students' ability to apply digital technology in promoting Vietnamese history, culture, and people.

Winning first prize in the competition was the website “Vietnam - National Day Spirit” (vinahistory.id.vn) from the ZZZ student group, University of Technology ( Da Nang University).

Chau Chi Hieu, a fourth-year Information Technology student, said that the group built this website with the desire to preserve important historical moments of the country, especially National Day (September 2nd). Furthermore, it's an opportunity to spread patriotism and pride in Vietnamese history.

“The vibrant online space with images, maps, timelines, and virtual tours helps the younger generation access history more easily. I hope they understand and appreciate the value of independence, freedom, and peace. From there, they will strive to study and work hard, dedicating their youthful energy to building a more prosperous, modern, and civilized homeland and country,” Hieu expressed.

The website "Touching the Beauty of Da Nang" (danasoul.id.vn) by the DanaSoul student group won second prize in the competition.

Vo Thi Tuyet Hoa, a fourth-year student majoring in Corporate Finance (University of Economics), expressed that each reader who visits the website is touching upon the natural beauty, cultural depth, and immersing themselves in the modern life of the city. The product not only promotes the city's tourism image but also awakens pride in every person from Quang Nam province about a dynamic, modern Da Nang, rich in cultural and historical values; along with the aspiration for growth of a vibrant young city.

Driven by a desire to preserve and spread Vietnamese cultural values, the "Three Heroes" group of students conceived and designed the website "Vietnamese Traditional Opera Soul" (hontuongviet.id.vn), which won third prize in the competition.

Nguyen Dinh Khanh, a third-year student majoring in E-commerce (University of Economics), shared: "We want to create a space to preserve the art of Tuong, a unique traditional theatrical form that is gradually being forgotten in modern life. Our group believes that bringing Tuong to the online space will help young people easily access and learn about this art form. This will then awaken pride, a sense of preservation, and a responsibility to continue these traditional cultural values."

A notable commonality in this year's competition is that all participating teams developed websites with the ".vn" domain. The students felt very proud because this is the national domain, representing Vietnam in the digital space. This not only helps affirm Vietnamese branding and identity but also creates a sense of formality and legitimacy for their projects.

For Nguyen Dinh Khanh, bringing traditional Vietnamese opera (tuong) to a digital platform linked to the ".vn" domain is like a commitment: to preserve, spread, and develop national culture using the technology of the new era.

Accompanying the program, Mr. Hoang Xuan Hieu, Head of VNNIC's branch in Da Nang city, said that the "Journey to Unification" competition has become a valuable playground helping the younger generation showcase their creativity, technological prowess, and spread love for the homeland through each digital product.

"When every young person owns a website with a '.vn' domain, it's not just a technological product, but also a declaration of national pride. Building a website with a '.vn' domain is a way for young people to affirm their personal brand and together build Vietnam's position on the world's digital map," Mr. Hieu emphasized.

According to the "Online Presence with Vietnamese National Domain Names" program (Decision No. 826/QD-BTTTT dated May 21, 2024), Vietnamese citizens aged 18 to 23 are entitled to a free ID.vn domain name along with a gift package including website design and email using their own domain name, helping them easily begin their digital journey. Each “.vn” website is a digital statement, contributing to spreading the Vietnamese identity globally.
