Apple has just announced a free camera repair program for the iPhone 14 Plus on its support page.
Apple launched the iPhone 14 Plus in September 2022, a device notable for its large screen and best-in-class battery life. It uses the A15 Bionic processor, manufactured using a 5nm process, which is also the chip used in the iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max generations.
| Apple has launched a tool to help users check the serial number of their iPhone 14 Plus themselves. |
According to Apple, the iPhone 14 Plus devices affected by this issue were manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024. Apple has released a serial number checker tool to allow iPhone users to verify if their device is affected by this problem. The tool can be found at: https://support.apple.com/iphone-14-plus-service-program-for-rear-camera-issue.
Apple will repair iPhone 14 Plus devices with faulty cameras free of charge. The company says affected users can visit an Apple retailer or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for assistance.
This repair program applies to eligible iPhone 14 Plus devices within three years of their initial sale; users who paid for rear camera repairs can contact Apple for a refund.
This issue only affects iPhone 14 Plus devices sold during the aforementioned period. Users of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max will not be eligible for this free repair program, even if they experience the same problem.
