Despite scoring an early goal, Arsenal inexplicably slowed down, giving Fulham the opportunity to push forward in search of an equalizer. In the 29th minute, Willian's speedy run opened up a chance for Fulham, and striker Jimenez made a clever run, receiving the ball in a favorable position before unleashing a decisive shot that beat goalkeeper Raya.
Fulham's goal made the match more exciting, as both sides had chances but were unable to score further goals in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, Arsenal made some substitutions, but these not only failed to give the visitors the lead but also resulted in them conceding a goal. In the 59th minute, a defensive error by center-back Gabriel, failing to clear the ball properly, allowed Cordova-Reid to put Fulham 2-1 up.

Witnessing his team being forced into a chasing position, manager Arteta immediately brought on all his remaining best attacking players, but Arsenal's attacking capabilities did not improve. The match ended with Arsenal losing 1-2.
In the other match played at the same time, Tottenham secured an easy 3-1 victory over Bournemouth thanks to goals from Sarr, Richarlison, and Son Heung-min.
