Bukayo Saka left the field during the 5-0 victory against Leeds United. |
According to The Times , Arsenal received encouraging news after scans showed that Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard did not suffer long-term injuries, following both early departures from the pitch during the 5-0 victory over Leeds United in the second round of the Premier League.
Manager Mikel Arteta was initially concerned that Saka might have suffered a serious hamstring injury in the second half, while captain Odegaard also left the pitch in the first half with apparent pain in his right shoulder.
However, Arsenal's medical team has stated that Saka and Odegaard's situations are not as serious as they initially feared. Neither player has suffered a recurrence of the injuries they sustained last season, which had previously worried Arteta.
Last season, Saka was sidelined for four months due to a right thigh muscle injury. Both Saka and Odegaard's injuries will be a major blow for Arsenal, especially as they prepare to face Liverpool in the third round of the Premier League this weekend.
Although it remains unclear whether both will be available for the match against Liverpool, they will not be sidelined for an extended period. In the win against Leeds, Arsenal were also without Kai Havertz, Ben White, Christian Norgaard, and Gabriel Jesus due to injuries. Even in the early stages of the season, the Gunners are facing difficulties due to injuries to key players.
